saitek st290 pro , just bought it a few days ago to help on my flying skills ... does wonders for me... still suck at tracking plaines tho... need more practice going to go play!!
I have the same Joystick. Just play around with the sensitivity settings for the 'twist' portion of the joystick. Or set it for the rudder controls, yaw... whatever - based on the vehicle. Not sure but you might be able to simply set the sens so low that it is almost non-responsive (If you are looking to get rid of it all together - or unassign it in set up) Took me a bit to get it where I liekd it.
How hard is it to go from keyboard to Joystick? Ive never used a Joy and have always used the keyboard. Im not too shabby flying the choppers and jets but am wondering if a Joy will help polish my skills. Another question i had was, do you guys use the joy just for flying? And, lets say you are flying and need to exit the cockpit, do you guys switch to the keyboard orr just continue to use the joy? Can you even do that?

well i want to get my air awards. what is the best joystick for Bf2? i have a logitech extreem 3d pro an the twist on the handle messes me up some. is there a good one that i should try to get ? or anyone got this joystick got any pointers?
I got this, and as someone already said, the twist as the rudder and the other one, the one that moves right nd left as the rolls.
i found that it's pretty good you just have to get the feel for it, and if you already have the feel for it and still suck..well ur jsut not cut out for the Air dude.
