The commander mode needs more, and is quite boring and a lack of power especially if your the commander you don't really command. Squad Leaders don't take orders and don't listen and there should be a way to either remove from that squad, after all your the Commander, take charge. Artillery shouldn't be the only attack power by the commander. They need a Precision strike from something, a plane or tomahawk Missile. If from the plane it could be a NPC plane like the UAV comes and fly's to it's target, delivers it's attack and leaves, also you can shoot it down. Perhaps add the Tomahawk as a manable weapon like the USS EX Gun on the Carrier.Next they need to make Squad members be able to ask or call for something. Most of the time no one can tell who asked because everyone is blinking from calling out tanks roger that's etc so they should be able to call just like the squad leader.Artillery should be made more accurate and closer to each other yet also further out. This is modern day artillery, this isn't WW 2. Commander should get a special spawn location, Such as inside the Carrier at a command room, or command house, or plane. Enemies will be able to get there just not easy, after all why should the commander be killed by and Artillery strike. Commanders should also be able to give orders to Lonewolfs because a lot of the times it would help a lot. Any other ideas?

Re: Commander mode
It kinda sounds like what you want is an RTS. The commander mode is an extremely small part of the game and, while it's important, the 31 other players on the team are important too.
One more thing, since when were precision strikes actually precise? Not in any modern war history that I know of...

Re: Commander mode
Originally posted by Strykerprecision strikes are used often in Iraq today. On a Building, or area they feel is to dangerous to enter without smaking it first. Don't want collateral damage.

Re: Commander mode
Originally posted by unununiumYou should watch Why We Fight. It turns out no "precision strikes" hit their intended targets.
For instance, the terrorists might be surrounded by civilians. The army gathers the target location, initiates either an ariel bombardment or an artillery strike. If the intended targets escape and are not killed, but some civilians die, it ends up on a left winged documentary.

Re: Commander mode
Originally posted by unununiumValid points. However, my argument still holds the same. A precision strike is the combination of weapons and co-ordinates and as a unit they didn't work.
A. The intended targets are no longer in the expected area or
B. Faulty intel.
The only way for the strike to actually hit a different target, there must be either a computer glitch or human error in the heat of the battle.

Re: Commander mode
You know what would be a good commander tool, an overall assignment tool.
What I mean is the ability to tell your whole team to attack a point. Not just squads.
Or another one would be for maps with airplanes, you could request an airstrike, and if the pilot listens he and the commander would get team points. Without the pilot needing to be in a squad.

Originally posted by unununiumWhat about the instance given in the movie where basically every house in a small area was hit, except the actual target. They knew which building it was, and it's unlikely that the building moved.

Re: Commander mode
Originally posted by werewolfversion2Actually, the artillery and smart bombs are VERY precise. The movie implied that none of the intended people were killed. Those bombs are only as smart as the co-ordinates punched into the systems. So, you need 'smart-co-ordiantes'. The war in Iraq is not about weapons. It's about gathering intelligence and taking out the target via lethal force. Why do you think there are so many special forces personell in Afghanistan and Iraq? The SF don't go around blowing up Russian bases like Rambo. They wait, stalk, and gather intelligence. A lot of them are actually looking for weapons caches to destroy and have been very sucessful thus far.
