I've tried it before, but I perfer to play with either my 5.1 cranked up, or with my headphones on, so that way I can hear everything around me. From the APC comming around the corner, to the enemy arty firing in the background. Just a personal preferance.

If I had a playlist, it would include a Mix of Linkin Park, Tupac, and The Doors.

              I listen mostly to rock,
              • System of a Down
              • Gorillaz
              • Brand New
              • Queens of the stone age
              • The Strokes
              • The Killers

I typically only listen to music when I'm in a vehicle (tank, APC, plane, chopper) or once in awhile sniping.

Before I bought a joystick flying an airplane and listening to music was impossible for me. Apparently Winamp and my keyboard shares keys.

When I do play music, I always end up turning it off because of the advantage afforded by hearing every little detail of the in-game sounds ... When wanting that little something extra, though, I usually opt for movie soundtracks.

The theme music from "Predator" is particularly good whilst playing BF2! Very tense and atmospheric. I'd recommend it to anyone. Oh, and Molossus from the "Batman Begins" soundtrack ... maybe because it has been used in a couple of BF2 videos and, in both instances, served them well.

HAHA once i plugged a portable cd player to my guitar amp and listened to death metal while playing bf2. That was cool.

Thats a good point....usually i just have one ear in the headphones and the music playing on my laptop next to me....can sometimes hear them come up. But I havent really played long enough for this to become a problem.

IMO, listening 2 music in the background is bad for my concentration... It affects me in how i play and like some people said, it affects what you hear in-game, like sniper shots, grenades, ect ect... So, I never play music in the BG... especially for cs, since in that game, I need to crank up my 5.1 Creative X-FI to hear that stuff
