Looking for a new BF2 Headset w/ microphone

Any suggestions? I've previously gone to staples and bougth a $15.00 one but it works like crap and I want one that will work. I don't want to have to spend $50 so I went to good old fashioned Ebay!

The only time I would use this is for online gaming(pretty much just BF2).

This is the one I was thinking of:

Stick with a name brand like Sennheiser.

    The Sennheiser PC130 are ~$30

Those things scare me lol! Suuuure buy those if you dont mind looking like some sci-fi alien while playing BF2, but I suggest going to bestbuy and picking up a headset there with a replacment warenty that way any time it breaks or you just want a new one ( cord on threads or whatever) just go trade it in. This is the set I have. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...ONTENTID=10013

They are 50 bucks but there really good and bestbuy sells em.

Myself and a few friends all use the Plantronics Audio 90. It is comfortable for long periods of time and sound quality is good. Zero complaints. It is $25 at Frys and I know Amazon.com sells it as well for around $25 shipped. IMO, you can't beat it for price and quality.

I have Plantronics DSP-500 its their USB headset. It seems to break every 6 months and its not like I am abusing it either. Plantronics keeps sending me out new ones. I am on my 3rd or 4th replacement now. Same things keeps happening though the mic just dies on it.

I have those. Dunno what's with all the negative reviews they're getting everywhere (aside from the durability complaints), they're very comfortable and the voice pickup and clarity is fine.

                  Altec Lansing 602.

                  Retail price - $100

                  Ebay price - $13.25

                  Best bargain I've ever had.

If you have an audio solution that supports Dolby 5.1 output, I would advise you to take a look at these: http://www.medusa-usa.com/headphones...c-191_193.html

Ive owned three pair of dolby 5.1 headsets now (the others were those horrid zalman ones, and the Turtle beach X-51's) and these are by far the best Ive ever used. The bass response is phenomenal (this is normally a weakness of headsets) and they are very sturdy (unlike my x-51s which died in about seven pieces from a three foot fall off of my desk).

They were previously only availible in the UK, but are now being imported and supplied with US power adapters.

                    Hope that was helpful!

Jesus christ, u guys spend way too much money on random stuff. I use regualr headphones and a Dell microphone that came with my sisters PC....which sucks, but the MIC works well.

Re: Looking for a new BF2 Headset w/ microphone

I just figured in the past that a mic was a mic and heaphones were headphones. But I recently purchased the DSP-500 made by Plantronics. Bought in from zipzoomfly.com because they have free 2-day shipping. Although I had to wait 1 full week before they were even shipped. Besides the shipping, they had the best price and they had it in stock. As opposed to newegg.com at the time.

I think these things are awesome. I had owned a pair of Grado 125 headphones which cost me about $130 at the time they were new. Those were great, and I can compare those the the DSP-500 headphones. Only had them for a week so I havn't had any experience with them breaking. I figured $50 was too much for some headphones but I think it was a good thing considering I just these headphones more than speakers. and if you think about it, if you spent $50 on a game and you play it all the time on your computer, you'll probably use the headphones all the time on your computer too. If you think the headphones weren't worth the quality, then maybe BF2 wasn't worth the quality to use all the time?

Edit -- I would definetely try to go with USB headphones over the stereo plug (3.5mm) I've had problems with teamspeak/headphones sound card transfering audio correctly, whereas USB headphones I have never heard anyone having problems like that.

I'm using a pair of Speelink Medusa's, surround sound in a headset and unlike a lot of them out there the qualityis superb and it comes with a seperate amp, it even has built in subwoofers. Fantastic for BF2.

I have tried a ton, but can't find one new set that I like b/c of my glasses. I reverted back to my 6 year old plantronics from playing UO...
