Performance based rankings...

I found a site which details who the best is in the world going by a series of skill based factors rather than just the pointless total points system.

It's got the leaderboards i've always looked for. Very interesting reading... especially the unranked players who have been stat padding!

OK, nice but actualy totaly incorrect, for example this guy here

is the number one on the site for K/D ratio, but fact is , he has only 130 kills and 2 deaths, ok nice, but if I want, I make a few new acounts, start playing with them, only tankwhore with them like hell, and once I get a good karkand round with a kill streak of 50+ or something , then I stop playing with the acount, then this acount is in top three of the best on the site .

This is the problem with only mentioning the ratio's and not the time, in a short period you can always perform great, with some luck, your actual performance based on ratios must be looked at on a large time scale, then it counts .

also this guy is listed as number one of points a min, but there are some thing I don't understand, he has 50000 points, but only 14000 teamwork score and 4000 combat score and 4000 commander score, still he has 50000 points ?????????????????????

this guy is also in top 5 points a min, clearly a big stat padder looking at favorite victem and enemy .

And all the crap of unranked earned points is ******** , there you can do what you want and there are no rules if you want, knife pistol only is possible, totaly unbalanced maps are possible, UBER vehicles are possible, cheating is possible, all can't be tracked , but those lead on the site .

Erm, did you read the top part?

You need to have played for a minimum of 3 days to receive a place. Just going by single stats is meaningless as you say. Look at the overall rankings which is calculated using this:

Ratings for the "Overall Rankings" at this site are based on BF2 player performance rather than accumulated global score. This includes flag points per minute (35%), KDR (25%), KPM (20%), and teamwork score/minute - flag points per minute (10%), and playtime (10%). KDR is capped at 6.0, KPM is 2.0, TSPM minus FPPM is .75 , FPPM is .50, and playtime is 3 days. Playtime is used to reduce ranking system exploitation.

These weights are similiar to BFTracks.com rankings for BF1942, however, infantry weapon kills account for 3/4 of the weighing for KDR and KPM, while vehicles account for 1/4. Artillery kills are excluded.

I think you've totally missed something...

When it says 'unranked' beside someones name it means they haven't been given a rank due to what appears to be cheating etc. It doesn't track unranked server stats.

look at there stats man, they havn't played 3 days at all, this for starting and the most sad part is there leaderboards are practical filled with statpadders , or people who play unranked and who knows what that is because then there is no ROE you have to folow and you can do everything, this site is a complete failure

No you're mis-understanding...
there is no stats feed from unranked servers.

Can you give me the name of someone who shouldn't be there as I don't see any who don't meet the criteria as stated.

(You do realise this lists everyone, cheaters and all but the point is it uses a load of stats to work out who is top. Don't just click/sort one stat!)

So what is the point of the site then ? it says no statpadding, but it lists everyone and the biggest statpadders get the first places, this is what makes the site stupid .

Ah right your talking about the infantry summary rankings.

Well unless someone has stat padded enough to be picked up by the filters a few will slip through I guess...

I hadn't even looked at the infantry summary rankings tbh. Not that interested.

It wsa the overall ranking I was talking about which is certainley a far better idication of skill than the current total points only ranking system don't you agree?

Anyway Rombaft, I hear these type of leaderboards are coming to BF2S so you better get used to them as a few people will be talking about them.

These mean jack and you shouldn't even insult Rombaft like that since we don't see your scores around. Most of those people are either on 16-32 Karkand/Shaqi servers 24/7 or just play for a little while and have not died much for some reason. I think anyone here could care less about those stats then the real ones.I have played with some of those people from the top infantry before and never seen them in the top while on the other hand, some of them are actually pretty good. But most don't even play 64 player servers either where they would be raped in a sec but instead play in much smaller servers where the lower ranked players are generally.

Well IMO they mean more than the current total points leaderboard which so many people talk about.

I do agree that site isn't perfect, (players who are no longer active for example shouldn't be listed), but it's still a usuful tool for comparing overall stats. I know i'll certainley be using it.

Until something better comes along is all we've got i'm afraid...

btw I didn't intend to insult Rombaft by saying that's where he's ranked. I was just mentioning it as I was unsure he'd noticed the 'overall ranking' as he was going on about the infantry leaderboards... (although now you mention it maybe this is why he's so ****ed off with it. :laugh: )
