I've noticed that bf2 forces to run in DX9 even if you don't have a DX9 card, I have a FX5950 Ultra and my mate has a FX5200, these are DX8 cards that would run so much better if they didn't have to handle DX9 shaders, is there anyway to stop BF2 forcing DX9?

Re: Anyway to stop BF2 forcing DirectX9?
Besides what others posted, a specific feature which BF2 requires is Pixel Shader v1.4 which is why it won't run at all on GF4 cards even if they would otherwise be faster than an FX card.Originally posted by ledbythereaperI've noticed that bf2 forces to run in DX9 even if you don't have a DX9 card, I have a FX5950 Ultra and my mate has a FX5200, these are DX8 cards that would run so much better if they didn't have to handle DX9 shaders, is there anyway to stop BF2 forcing DX9?Comment

The FX series are "Consumer" level cards.
They aren't meant for gaming anyway.Comment
