M4? Dood, I press #3 and whatever gun it gives me, I just use it. I think it's called a carbine or something similar. I play as SF very often. I swear...I never noticed two dots in zoom mode. I gotta go to bed, but this is killing me now. I feel like I'm missing out on all the subtleties of the game.

ugh..lol, now don't get too carried away now. The red dot is the aimsight pinpoint, yes, and the "second" dot below the main dot is nothing more than a texture/graphical bug if you may.

It is the same thing, and is PART of the main red dot, I guess they just got sloppy with the texturing. It also could have been purposeful, to give the red dot a better, more 3D look. IMHO it makes it feel much more 3D, and not just like a red 2D-texture plastered on the scope. They are pretty much in the same identical position, just aim with the red dot!

the smaller one is just an optic effect. lol.. perhaps this is why your aim is so poor?

with the spec ops guns at longer ranges it is usually more effective to single shot. medium range a 2-3 shot burst. close range, burst as many as it takes to kill them, then stop wasting ammo - because theres *always* another guy coming.

the X that appears is quite useful in practicing aim with weapons. it instantly tells you wether you shot has hit the target. once you get the fundamental prone/burst thing down for mid/long range, it just takes practice practice practice. dont be dismayed if you have a poor kill ratio in the beginning, the weapons take some getting used to. you get a handful of unlocks quite quickly though - my recommendation is to play around with all of the classes and find which one you like playing most, then unlock the weapons for that class. the unlocks arent going to make you any better - they might be marginally better than the default weapons in some areas but they usually just add flavor (the exception is the DAO-12).
youll see many threads here saying such and such is a better unlock, but IMO the whole discussion is silly. sure, the G36E (medic assault rifle) is a better weapon than the MP7 (engineer SMG) by far -- but if you like playing engineer more than any other class then you should unlock the engineer upgrades.

i think its deliberate. when you look at a laser it leaves a slight trail, as well as optic effects like that. im a freelance modeler/texture artist myself, and if someone left a texture that sloppy - in an area that crucial - id drag them out to the street and shoot them myself.
although whoever decided on the low resolution for the F2000 crosshairs should be fired. its so pixellated its not funny. then again im running at medium textures (128 meg card) - perhaps on high its better?

If youve used a red dot sight, you know that it looks as real as it can get. Its most probably an optical reflection, something taken from "reality" and set in the game to make it look more real.

On a sidenote, Ive used far worse red dots, so be happy about your perfect little small dot.
