THE REASON THE G3 HAS ONLY 20 BULLETS IN IT'S MAGAZINE IS BECAUSE THAT IS THE AMOUNT IT HAS IN REAL LIFE

Wake up and rejoin reality please, the Assault class is in no way useless and the Medic class is in no way perfect, stop whining, get the sand outta your vag and stop fussing because your only class has been nerfed a little

So what's up with changing the ammo count on the MP7? :P

Assault has three uses right now: Smoke, flashbangs, and the grenade launcher. If you fail to see the use of smoke, you've never tried using it in a TV station siege. If you fail to see the use of flashbangs, then you're probably one of those dopes still convinced that the F2000 is better than the AKs. If the GL nerf hurt you bad as assault, you should be playing AT with the DAO since apparently all you're doing is CQB.

If you're not using those, then you should have picked support. :P

          Re: Assault nerfed.....why?

          Medic has always been overpowered..
IMO there is a simple solution, im suprised noone has suggested it yet.

a previous posted said that 'medic gave up armor and the grenade launcher for shock paddles and medkits'. ermm, ok.. then why does it still have grenades?
if you are going to look at it that way: medkit/shock paddles = armor/grenade launcher, then medic is still overpowered because it has grenades.

ive played most of the time as assault. i loved the grenade launcher, and i really dont see it as being nerfed at all since i was never one to fire at my own feet - i only use it for medium/long range shots, and consider myself pretty accurate at ducking out of cover and popping a grenade at a pron support/sniper/spec ops, etc. medic isnt unbalanced because the grenade launcher has been nerfed (at this point skilled GL users will say 'what nerf?' - in fact it can be a buff in some ways since now i can bank grenades off walls) -- medic has ALWAYS been unbalanced. why do you think the top ranking players are mostly medics?

people seem to be saying 'but assault has the G3', as if thats supposed to be enough to justify playing the class. yeah, the G3 is a nice gun. is it better than the PKM? no, not by a longshot. but support has a disadvantage in that if you bump into them running around a corner, assault will usually win unless they are extremely lucky with the first few shots out of the PKM. standing/moving accuracy is still pretty bad with it, and a skilled player with an assault rifle - even a submachinegun (even the 'nerfed' MP7) will totally r@pe the support player. so this is still balanced, and in fact it introduces a new gameplay aspect where players have to be wary of stepping out into the open where a prone support player can be waiting.

is the G3 better than the G36E? or even the L85A1? IMO, not even close. the L85A1 is a 3-shot kill weapon now, and does as much damage as the F2000. it has full auto and tears it up in CQC, and still retains decent accuracy at range. the G36E is arguably the best assault rifle in the game, the 3-shot bursts can be fired very quickly (although it takes 4 shots to kill), accuracy is high and both rifles have good scopes.
...no doubt medic-lovers, who dont want to see their currently overpowered class changed (and their racking up of *both* combat/teamwork points come to an end), are going to argue this...

i have mostly played assault until now. i have had the G3, F2000 unlocked before 1.2 and have used them as well as the default MEC and USMC assault weapons extensively. i just recently started playing medic, and i find myself wishing i had the G36E and L85A1 as assault class unlocks - which should not be the case. even the default medic weapons are rediculously overpowered.
medics currently have the ability to relatively easily rack up more points with medkits and revives than any other class can with combat. in fact, tha hairier the combat on a server the more points they can get. assault has only ONE way of getting points - killing people. they should be the best at it. currently, IMO, assault is balanced with every other class except medic. medic has far too overpowering weapons - the L85A1 and G36E are good in CQB, medium and even long range. this is rediculous.

currently there is no reason to play assault when you get just as good weapons as medic, as well as the ability to self-heal, heal teammates, fight effectively at all ranges (except sniper at long ranges), revive a squad in seconds, and chuck grenades.

from a balance perspective, medics would be balanced with a light sidearm such as a full-auto glock-18 with a larger mag. but since you canot take away their beloved unlocks that they have spent this much time mastering (and whoring), they can still be balanced through other means. perhaps smaller magazines and removal of grenades. medics should have defensive weapons that make them reasonably effective, but should not be even on remotely equal ground with assault.

people seem to be missing one thing: there are two main factors in this game - health and ammo. support never runs out of ammo, has huge magazines, and can infinitely spam grenades. medics can continuosly replenish their health as long as they do not die, and can revive entire squads in seconds - easily turning the tide in a battle. assault has nothing. the grenade launcher is just a minimal improvement (to some) on the grenades, it is not some uber ability that makes playing a class worthwhile.

in the meantime, since the patch and the buff (wtf were they thinking) of the already rediculously overpowered medic weapons, i will be playing the medic class. since ive been playing it more, my scores have doubled (i can retain the same combat score yet i also rack up at least as many points in revives/heals) and i die far less often.

(**edited "the grenade launcher is just a minimal improvement (to some) on the grenade launcher")

I have no problem continuing to kick ass with Assault in 1.2. The armor, firepower and mobility are great together.

              assault has mobility?
i *thought* it was OK before, when i primarily only played assault and switched to AT when needed, but ever since ive been primarily playing medic, when i go back to assault i feel like a turtle.

i can barely run across a street without gasping for air. i know theyre wearing armor and carrying a respectable amount of gear (yet its only combat gear - they dont have field packs on) -- but youd think they could muster a little bit more juice when there are artillery shells exploding all around them :)

armor really isnt that much to write home about. sure, you *may* survive one encounter due to armor - take an extra bullet - but chances are youd have survived it anyway without. a medic can just self-heal and be as good as new for the next encounter. and again, and again. my survivability has skyrocketed as a medic. thats understandable, since it is a healing class, but my killing ability has not suffered at all. *thats* the problem.

lol, in combat the spec ops are a trump card, they can car bomb, and they have pretty damn good sniping and spraying ability, but this in no way means they have the best. c4 requires a car or stealth to apply, thus its no as reliable as at. and the m16/snipers can sniper better than the g36c, and assault rifles/machineguns can spray better than the g36c.

medic is fine too, medic is essential to a squad, so you ask why choose assault over medic, simple, no body armor, and gl, which is quite an effective weapon in the right hands.

exactly the circumstance that the enemy doesnt know how to use armor, at is the most reliable anti armor, thus making it the best anti armor. as for its weapon, although the eng has a worse small arm, the at small arm is very limited thus suiting its class.

i would only agree with this if track disabling was possible, and if the tank had better sweat spots.

i believe they nerfed the splash radius on grenades from the launcher, as well as C4. infantry can be pretty close to C4 now and still survive unscathed. i dont consider the arm time on the grenade launcher projectiles a 'nerf' since i never fired the thing at my feet anyway, in fact if it worked properly being able to bank it off walls would be pretty sweet.

i seem to notice the splash radius being smaller since shots that would normally have killed someone now dont. im pretty good at nailing prone people at middle/far distance with the grenade launcher and the last few days sometimes ive dropped a grenade right beside them and they still didnt die. the effective range of 40mm frag grenades launched from the M203 should be 5 metres. ingame, its more like 3 feet now.

the grenade launcher may have been the best anti-infantry weapon in the game in the past, it certainly isnt now. now its the PKM, hands down.

i have an idea - since game balance doesnt seem to be a concern, why not merge medics and support into one class? you can have armored, PKM wielding medics running around that would drop kits that would fully replenish your health and grenades/claymores/mines. and if you already had 5 mines, it would stack.. so by dropping and picking up 10 kits youd have 50 grenades to spam, or your teammate could have 50 claymores to wall the enemy into their base spawn.

Allright I agree with you on this. It is fine if the developer took out grenades from Medic. Other ideas of nerfing Medic would definitely screw up the class.

The GL is crappy now. Too crappy. I feels limp. I don't like they delay. Your not sure if you have hit them or not. I don't like it bouncing of attacking jeeps. I really don't like lobbing one into a pack of 5 players, only to kill one of them.
YET, you can still noob someone out (and yourself) from point blank range.

Okay, lets just get this straight there were 3 nerfs to the GL:

                            a) Can't Jump while shooting
                            b) Arming Delay
                            c) Radius Reduced

                            a) is TOTALLY justifiable and should have been done. Being able to jump-shoot made all of the bunnyhopping idiots thrive.....combined with the prone nerf = awesome anti-noob nerf.

                            b) Arming Delay dosen't make any difference to me, it is a very small difference and prevents people from killing themselves. You can still easily kill people at close range.

                            c) REDUCED RADIUS! THIS IS THE NERF THAT TOTALLY SCREWED THE GL! The GL is just best at medium-short / medium range. I don't know how much they reduced it but it is MUCH harder to hit people now.

I don't care how good of a shot you are, no one can land a grenade exactly on someone on a consistant basis, and the leeway that we used to have is nerfed...therefore making it harder to kill people, and therefore tipping the balance of usefullness to LESS then a rifle.

The point is that there was NO PURPOSE to nerfing both b) and c). Nerfing a) and b) would have been sufficient to pervent the close up one shots that everyone was complaining about.

So, fine the nerfed it, but don't pretend they didn't and you are 1337 and don't notice a difference.

They nerfed it and gave us little return to compensate.....if you can't see that then logic isn't your strong point

                              Re: Assault nerfed.....why?

On the occasions when I find myself with a squad with a medic already in it, I am finding myself lately to take the F2000 and go assault. The GL does give you a nice one hit kill ability still, and it is cool to be able to stop vodniks from whoring their .50 cals.
Even more than this you get flashbangs which are such a MASSIVE advantage over everyone that it isn't even funny.
Maybe the rifle isn't significantly better than the 36e and it may even be worse, but the combo of ARMOUR, GL and FLASHBANGS is very impressive.

Exactly! Sheesh, Assault players who think it's easy being a Medic should try it for 10 hours or so. The uberness of your gun doesn't mean a thing when you've got a medic bag or shock paddles in your hand.
