I got it by being good with a jet pre-1.2 and teamstacking with friends on pubs. That's pretty much it.

If team switching was considered stats padding then it wouldn't be an option in the game. A great deal of people switch to the winning side in servers which allow team changes, you only have to look at the balance of the teams to see this, its never evenly balanced unless theres strict admins around.

As I said in my previous posts, I think you probably could get it by joining 16 player servers and playing really well, but again as I said before, I think the amount of people who could actually achieve this (nessicery level of skill) is quite low, probably less than 100, out of those maybe only 10 might actually care and aim to get the ribbon. More over to make getting the ribbon realisticly possible you have to plan to get it from very early on in your "career", if you leave it too late the number of wins you need is far too large to warrent trying to get.

IMO playing with 3-4 other clan mates and all joining the same side is no more earning the ribbon than team switching, you're not relying on your skill to win the ribbon you're relying on manipulating the circumstances in which you play in order for the probability of you winning to go up.

If EA want to reset my stats for team switching to earn a ribbon then I'll definatly NOT be buying anymore EA games in the future, if they have an issue with the way people are trying to get this ribbon they should rethink the criteria for obtaining it, not reset users stats.

I dont think its very moral to switch teams to get a win. But then again its not that fair that when you join a server you usually get sent to the losing team with no chance of making up the lost ground.
Its a bad award really, encourages team switching and is strange in that it awards an individual for the teams effort. The worst thing for most people is its the big glaring hole in there stats and the only way to get it is method 1 and 2 outlined by princess.
There must be very very few people who got this 100% legitimatly.

1) Learn to judge which side is going to win or lose in a game when you join, join that side and do your best to help them win.

2) Play on a server with auto team balance off, and switch teams at the end of the round so you're always on the winning side.

Now some may say number 2 is lame but thats what I'm going to do, IMO number 1 is really just as lame, you're not earning the ribbon you're just abusing the system in both cases.

Don't you think they put that in so you could squad up and and get a team that can win?

Well.. I don't team switch, so that's not an issue. I don't stack the team, so that's not an issue. My earlier statement about playing with the same people was implying our server has a lot of regulars so I almost always have a good team. Sometimes I am lucky and get a couple of my fellow clan mates on the same side, but most of the time I have a few of them on both sides.

Perception being what it is one who would accuse another of playing in an unethical manner, might also be accused by yet another. With respect to that, I am happy in that I have EARNED the W/L ratio I have and look forward to being lucky enough to go all the way and get the ribbon. I will do this knowing I did it without using the methods mentioned in some of the replies. I may not get it in the end, but I am going to try.

I disagree. The only "skill" involved in getting this ribbon is teamwork. I'm not telling you to teamstack 8 vs 1 random. I'm telling you to get like 2 others to increase your chances of winning in a smaller game. I really wouldnt call 2 or 3 clan members on one side in a 16 player game teamstacking. This is a teambased award and one person cannot influence a game enough by themselves to make or break a 16 player game with any regularity. It takes more than one person to control the flags against 8 others to win a game.

Last I heard team-switching doesn't actually work; the team you spent the majority of the time on is the team that has to win. Does anyone have proof either way?

It's annoying to get because every time you lose you think MAN now I have to win 3 more times to just get back to where I just was.

That's the most frustrating part right now. Even if I win 3 in a row, if the last one is a loss, then I am back to where I was when I sat down to play. It's driving me nuts.

haha, I never really bothered about this, I only play for fun, but never switch sides or nothing like that, half the time im either being switched by the server, or I go into a server and rounds already ended, checked my stats right now and I have more losses then wins, by like 28(stats havent updated yet).

I'm pretty sure that they do. On their rules to be enforced for ranked servers, it says you shouldn't switch teams in order to earn awards, although I can't see anyone ever getting punished for switching teams.
