Ok, well I am almost there. 2.71 WL ratio. Although I have to admit I doubt I wil get 70+ winning rounds in a row, which is what I need (approx) to get it at this point.I am just curious. How many of you actually have it? I hear everyone talk about how hard it is to get. I admit I have been trying for some time. I'm doing it the hard way. No high-scoring servers, just regular rounds on a normal server with whatever team I can get. I would imagine and I think I have seen something (search did not help) about it in the past.

Im about 30-60 mins away from having enough command time, then I will need to raise my W:L ratio from 1.58 to 3.0 which i will start doing tomorrow.
I think it's a stupid requirement to have, 1 person cannot effect a whole server enough to warrent them getting that kind of W:L ratio.
Simple fact is that it has nothing to do with your skill at the game, theres only 2 realistic ways to get it.
1) Learn to judge which side is going to win or lose in a game when you join, join that side and do your best to help them win.
2) Play on a server with auto team balance off, and switch teams at the end of the round so you're always on the winning side.
Now some may say number 2 is lame but thats what I'm going to do, IMO number 1 is really just as lame, you're not earning the ribbon you're just abusing the system in both cases.
I believe it would be impossible to earn the ribbon otherwise, unless you were an awesome fragger beyond belief and only played on 16 player servers where your skill has a larger impact on the game, even so I only think maybe a handful of people would have the skill nessicery to pull it off.
So my next 500 or so rounds are going to be on servers with team switch off, it's a bit sad but thats just the way it is, I want all the ribbons and theres really no choice with this one.
Once thats out of the way I will have all the BF2 ribbons and can go back to concentraiting on medals and badges :)Comment

Princess is right.
The ribbon itself forces people to switch teams because it's unrealistic that 1 person could have such an effect on their team, or be lucky enough to be on the winning team so often.
Then theres the fact that people that do switch teams or quit with a few tickets remaining, force people on the winning team to be switched to the losing team.
EA should rethink alot of the Awards requirements.Comment

Not to mention you have to worry about being switched because you're good and so ending up on the team you spend 15 mins pounding into the ground only to lose 3 mins later.
I'm hopeing that on a server with team balance off there will be a lot of team switching and unbalancing and one team getting trounced really fast (probably ending in them losing all their flags) in which case these rounds will be over fast and I can cram lots into 1 night.Comment

Well, for the record. I don't switch sides. I don’t "pick" the team I play on. I just play on the same server everyday and get some good games. I lose some, but I have been lucky enough to win more.
I do think you can do it without doing either of the things Princess suggested as I do not do either and I am on track to get it. I may not get it, but I am on my way.
I also do think that one person can make a difference in the game. Being able to turn a flag and stay alive is an important thing. If you can do it on a regular basis and play with some good players (like the guys I play with) you can win often enough to get there. You just need some good teamwork and some buddies to help by sticking together and playing as a squad.
I know there are people around here who have the ribbon. Is this how you did it? The way Princess suggested?Comment

I have it! Just join a clan which doesn't suck and get 2 or 3 of your buddies on the same side and work to get it together on a 16-32 man server its too hard to make a big impact on a 64 man server. Even 2 people on the same side working together on teamspeak can make or break a 16 man game. You should also keep a running tab of your wins\losses I posted a spreadsheet on one of the WC posts in the tips forum. You can easily track your progress with that. Plus you can accurately predict how long it will take to get. The hardest part for me was just having to play commander so much!

Last time I checked, only 177 people had it. I'm will to bet at least 50% of them stat padded/team switched to get it. So it really sets you apart if you can get it without padding. Good luck parish.

Team switching is classified as stat padding and you can get your stats reset for it, various people that had 200k+ global points got reset for this reason.Comment
