i agree this weapon is the dogs bollocks, the only problem with it is that eeryone else loves it! there are about 2-3 times as many snipers after this patch i think, i've had to adjust my play style slightly to cope with the increase number of snipers.

        Re: L96 sniper

I still prefer all of the basic rifles. They add a bit more diversity of the Sniper classification for me.

SVD and Type-88, I play the role of a squad supporting marksmen. Always hiding amongst a moving squad putting one or two shots on anyone who dives to prone to spray. Keeps the squad moving at a decent pace, and renders support weapons and other snipers useless. They never target the SDM.

M24. I use it in a Defense/Recon role. Usually with the assist of an Engineer and a Anti-Tank. We pick the flag that's most vital to our teams success, and we defend it with overlapping abbilities. I designate and render other sinpers useless, Anti-Tank keeps APC's and tanks on their feet. The engineer can steal a Flaming tank after the OpFor jumps out of it, thus, if the enemy doesn't come and destory their own tank... they rarely get it back.

It's a very effective system. Keeps things interesting, plus.. I don't like the concept of a "non-one hit kill .50bmg", and I don't like the sound of the L96a1. It sounds like a Dakota Longbow. It's nuts.

I bet he couldn't even hear you. I want to find some moron like that too that doesn't run away when getting shot at so i can do the same.

A new stat would be nice too now that i think about it.. = "longest sniper kill shot"

            Re: L96 sniper

I love the new L96. I play sniper the vast majority of the time and I'm really enjoying the new rifle. As stated above teh crosshairs are thin which means it's easier to get headshots. Last night on mashtuur the MEC had the USMC hotel point where the radar is. I went to the arty and crouched behind it to scan the top of the hotel. There were 5 people on the roof laying down fire and I headshotted 4 of them in rapid succession. Even got the medic before he could revive anyone. The last guy leaned over the edge to far and someone else got him before I could.

I had spec ops try to take me out and I was able to headshot them which is something that rarely happened before the patch. Previously I'd center mass the prone individual and end up hitting the shoulder while they were laying down and accurate volume of fire. This time when I center/center them it hits their head and stops em cold.

Lastly I really enjoy the new sound of the L96. It's quieter and has an echo effect which makes it harder to pinpoint. The M24 was improved accuracty wise, but the thinner crosshairs and echo sound of the L96 has made it my hands down favorite.
Now if we can just get a semiauto rifle (M25) for the USMC sniping would be perfect.
