I disagree, because it defeats the purpose of claymores: To let a sniper sit up on his rooftop of choice without someone else coming up and stabbing him. One-shotting the person tripping it's kinda needed for that. Immunity to explosions is not.

As for artillery blowing up claymores, not too sure about that, I was barracading the Sharqi TV station and the one I dumped at the ladder base got hit practically dead-on by a shell and didn't budge.

Just earned my expert explosives the other day as MEC on a 64 player Karkand server. After USA capped the square i just ran through the high traffic areas laying claymores. The admins even kicked me for 5 minutes for "excessive use of claymores"

At least when they were on the floor you could sneak around the out of range but on ladders it was impossible.

..... and don't say throw a grenade at it because that would kill the sniper up there and you know he would punish YOu then :hmm:
Playing as a sniper Ive had that happen, but I never punished. Im sure your teammate was not thinking of preventing you from using the roof, but was instead attempting to somewhat cover his rear. I dont think selfishness had anything to do with the placing of clays. IMHO
Im fairly sure, he also hoped his teammates would see the red skull and not chase it in the hopes of finding free pr0n.
