Easiest way to Explosive Badge - Claymores

I started this game playing mainly Spec Ops, but after awhile started using other kits in the quest for better weapons. Recently I decided to seek my Explosive Ordinance badge, but was unable to get it with C4, even though I was pretty good at them. I was trying to do it without Kamikazee Jeep'n or C4 chucking and it seemed impossible.

Tonight, playing Karkland and trying the new sniper rifle, I started to get more daring with the Claymore by using it offensively, and BOOM, I got my badge easily.

there's nothing daring about using a claymore offensive. You can't blow them up with anything so as long as you can get to where you want to put them you're pretty much set for a free kill, assuming it's a busy pathway.

Ya, because now placing a claymore is absolutely mindless. With FF off on claymores they practically garauntee a kill with every placement.

there's nothing daring about using a claymore offensive. You can't blow them up with anything so as long as you can get to where you want to put them you're pretty much set for a free kill, assuming it's a busy pathway.

they can be blown up with arty ive seen it myself so saying NOTHING can blow them up is false.

Sure artying claymores so your guys can advance seems well bleh but it can be done.

And there is only two maps i can see where they can really be abused sharqui and kark just use different tactics you know you dont have to rush to that hotel like there is a medium rare steak there.

expert will still be hard with claymores. 37 kills is so hard

Veteren would be pretty easy i think just place them out of site have a buddy play support to restock you or with everyone playing support just snag ammo bags or hang out by the supply box.

Expert tho i doubt unless you find a team that just cant cap no flags period then you got a shot but that would have to be a team of dummies.

I realized other things about the patch, which makes my receiving this badge less impressive. As I said, I was trying to do this cleanly, no cheap methods. However, after finding out that FF was off with the new patch, the achievement is slightly lessed. Luckily for my own ego, I watched most of the kills and most players on my team seemed to steer clear of the claymores, probably not knowing of the lack of FF now. I also was able to place them in fairly strategic locations to maximize the kills per claymore. So, the badge still counts in my mind.

This was only the basic badge, but I got around 22-24 kills in less than 3/4 of a 64-person round as a sniper. Seems like the expert badge would be easily within reach using this method.

In the end, I think that they need to turn FF on, because I was also killed several times by the claymore :hmm: and in places you didn't see them pre-patch.

On the flip side, how many times have you had teamates continuing to climb a ladder even though the big red skull must have obviously been in their vision and boom, punished for teamkill. Someone else in another thread mentioned a half damage for teamates and yes they set the claymore off as well. That's the best bet for balance imo.

After like 45 seconds or some insanely long time. That and you have to find where the sniper's holed up and hiding at first.

I used claymores for my veteran explosive badge. It was easier than using c-4 I think. C-4 is how I got my basic explosive badge.

On the flip side, how many times have you had teamates continuing to climb a ladder even though the big red skull must have obviously been in their vision and boom, punished for teamkill. Someone else in another thread mentioned a half damage for teamates and yes they set the claymore off as well. That's the best bet for balance imo.

I have to admit that about the only time i DO punish for teamkills (before the patch) its very selfish to block off an entire rooftop just so you can be up there alone, as mentioned it takes ages for it to disapear when you are killed so no it forces everyone else to stay well away for far too long.

At least when they were on the floor you could sneak around the out of range but on ladders it was impossible.

..... and don't say throw a grenade at it because that would kill the sniper up there and you know he would punish YOu then :hmm:

I just finally got my explosives badge today, hadn't bothered getting that last badge until the recent patch. The no FF on claymores is nice, but it's also nice for Engineer mines, which can get you the odd multi-kill. I found mixing it up between Claymores and mines on Sharqi worked well, adapting to whatever kind of fighting was going on.

I agree, sito. I think it would be fair if it badly damaged, but maybe not killed teammates. That way, claymores would be a good defensive tool but wouldn't be the spam-happy, instant kill, very tough to avoid weapons they are now.

Are ye on about the basic/vet or the expert badge ? I have tried a few times now to get the expert and no luck. Dont think i got over 20 kills with them at any time, you need lots of luck i think. Although I havent tried a quiet server yet.
