    Re: Radeon BF2 problem?

I didnt want to read through everyones post so ill just post the cure for the problem with the 9250. I used to have one and in the display settings you have to set the "AGP speed" to "4x" instead of "8x" worked for me anyways.. and then i went and made the mistake of buying a Geforce FX 5500 256mb piece of ****ing ****. I cant play videos without this green crap going all over the place, and now BF2 doesnt even start. But in any case, that is how you get the 9250 to work with BF2.

I apologize if the solution to this problem was already taken care of.

9800 Pro 128 w/ 6.2 - My card is Overclocked, I tried to set it back but still got lag.

Get lag really bad sometimes to where it is unplayable. Mostly I get lag all during the game though now with this patch; It just happens randomly but I get stuttering sometimes every 8 seconds or every 30 seconds and the 64 player servers are sometimes the worst.

Please dont do what he said. Most 9200's dont come with fans on them and if you try overclocking you will most likely blow up/fried your card and take your AGP slot with it too.

x1800xt easy 75fps average with everything maxed, no problems at all before or after the patch, using the 6.2 catalyst drivers.

I have a P4 3.2GHZ, 2GB RAM and RADEON X850 Platinum. Before the patch, ran like a champ on high settings. Somewhere between installing the 1.2 patch and the 6.2 vid card driver, it now runs like a dump truck...if it runs at all.

I get extremely low frame rate. I get CTD. I get system lock up and have to use the reset button to restart.

I've tried everything short of pouring water on it to try and fix it...if EA/DICE don't come out with 1.21 soon...GR:AW release is right around the corner. Maybe its time to move on.

I have an x800xl which is pretty good. You have to be sure though which cards are supported by bf2. Ive seen posts of people saying that they lag really bad etc. and its because the card they have is not supported.

Screen goes black during gameplay most of the time. I'd have to say around 4 times per hour. Sometimes i get lucky and get to play 30 mins straight.

Everything was fine until the new patch.

9600 XT 128MB with latest Omega drivers DX set in middle of Performance and Quality. Arctic cooler fitted. No overdrive or overclocking. 40+ FPS @ 1280 x 768 all medium settings. (run ati tool before launching game and it shows FPS at top right of screen - comes with Omega package) no problems spotted other than juttering inside chemical plant on Mass Destruction at weekend. But there were a couple of guys with over 200 ping so I put it down to that.

Yea like you have probably heard the 1.2 patch had problems and that might be why your having that problem. See if the 1.21 hotfix patch fixes it.

I haven't been able to run BF2 past 1.12, as it kicks me to desktop during map load. I've tried everything, including turning off dual channel, turning off HT, etc (even though previous iterations of the game didn't seem to have a problem with those features), all to no avail.

As alluded to above, I'm hoping that patch 1.21 will help.
