They adjusted the BH for 2 reasons.
Because it owned Mashtuur and people complained about it.
Becuase it was another method people could use to own a map.

IMO the patch has levelled out the field. Now it takes more than one player in a jet to win a map, and it takes a great deal of patience and skill to get to a score of 100+ on many maps.

I do agree that it has slightly nerfed wake Island, but as for the other maps DEFEND THE BEACH POINTS WHEN YOU CAP THEM!

I LOVE the nerfage to airplanes this patch has brought. I'm so sick of J10's spraying rounds that kill anything within a 10m area. Bombs that highlight enemies with a box and show you exactly where to aim, regardless of your speed. I've finally seen planes shot down and I relish the sight of every single burnt husk falling out of the sky.

I think helo's were overpowered and that they should have to fly nap of the earth.

The whole point of this post was not about planes and how the patch finally put airpower in a more balanced relationship with groundpounders, the point of this post was to indicate that the dynamic of the game has changed and other parts need to have slight adjustments to bring things inline with the new direction.

It's beyond stupid to think it's perfectly ok for one guy in a plane to completely dominate a map. That leaves 32 people on the opposing team SOL when it comes to things like having fun or enjoying a match.

Reguarding the BH flying 300-400ft tatic, i laugh whenever i see a blackhawk up that high. The commander normally points it out before then and if it's up that high it's obviously going to be full, which makes it a sitting duck for the J-10's. Easiest 7 kills you can get when you are in a jet, and it's even easier now.

I agree that the USMC should have some sort of armoured boat thing to help get troops onto the shore. I mean inflatable rubber boats fitted with the standard SAW support gun? it's pathetic. They had better beachhead assualt vehicles or whatever they'ere called in WW2. (Higgins Boat etc..) instead of inflatable boats. This game is set in 2007! (Hence the Wake Island map being called Wake Island 2007) and you're telling me......that the ''best army in the world'' uses inflatable boats to send troops into battle.

          l.o.l

simply putting some APC's instead of boats would do the job, but i think that these amphibious assault vehicles need some sort of basic AA (no super-duper missles, could be just manual flak-style AA, basically some sort of APC/Linebacker Hybrid without the AA missles)

          =/

Adding jets to Wake Island already nerfed it from the beginning. Now when the USMC is getting base raped, there's actually a chance the AA can shoot down a J10 or stolen JSF and get a flag capped.

Now try imagine spending the entire round in the air and dealing with this AA for the entire game. Even after all that these same soldiers will come on these forums and laugh at the pilots for being frustrated or dissapointed with the latest poorly thought out changes DICE has made.

The problems with AA are global problems that are the result of poorly redesigned AA missiles. They effect the pilots, and the infantry who have to spend 30 seconds in a BH to get on shore, and as this thread has pointed out, the overwhemling nature of the new AA negatively effects the entire balance of the game.
I can't tell if your first paragraph was really aimed at me directly, but since I play as an engineer most of the time, one of the crucial gameplay aspects for me (and the rest of my squad) is to keep the transport helo in the air as long as possible by repairing the damage it sustains. And to date I've logged over 50 hours in a helo as a passenger (= not as a gunner or a pilot).

Since keeping the helos airborne by repairing them is now impossible and balancing issues notwithstanding, the new patch robs an important element of engineer play in maps such as Wake, Oman, Mashtuur and Clean Sweep. That's almost half of the maps. All there's left to do as an engineer is CQC or laying mines for easy kills, which is not my idea of the kit's initial purpose.

Engineer is a defensive kit and not an offensive one -- on foot, in a vehicle or in a helicopter.

i play wake alot, but i definitly know my way around the other maps, and i can definitly say that they are all fine as is, the problem with helicopter crews is that they dont understand that the transport heli is just that and not a support weapon, as soon as you are over land and reasonably close to a flag or transportation, you should bale. i can get to the island in 5 seconds on a boat on wake, but everyone is sitting on the carrier like idiots, so i dont get anywhere because i neeed backup. and on dragon vally theres apcs that the us starts with and the tops of the vally can make a good safe trip for the blackhawk if jets dont see them. dalian plant has two transport helis, if they go as fast as possible, they can get on land before the enemy team gets there. and gulf of oman the us starts with land.

                you are trippin.

Looking at the AA issue from both sides of the coin (an air jockey and a ground pounder) I see both points of view. Of course each group will find flaws in the others logic. But for the most part I think this patch has made one thing more important, and that is the key to any good game, TEAMWORK. Now it would be wonderful if that occured on a regular basis, but sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't all these "problems" become glaring, and you hear complaining about being killed all the time by AA etc. As a mostly infantry type player myself, sometimes I make it my squads role as AA interdiction and we go around the map either killing the men manning them or the emplacements themselves. On maps like Wake do this for the first 5-7 min. and get a foothold on the island then it's all gravy. Just my 2 cents.
