I know you retards love being "ground thumpers" and think it's so noble and mighty to own the skies, but Battlefield's gameplay revolves around capping flags - which you guys do little to assist.

Planes were getting a free ride before, with nothing to keep them in check. Well... rides over. And the game is so much better for it.

On the forum you can tell who the truly skilled pilots are, because they welcome the change. And believe me, they're going to adapt.

    Well said.

As a pilot myself, to all the real pro pilots, I salute you. We now will not have to be Tked by non-experience pilots and often times real pro pilots will take turns to fly "Just ask!" I think we can really use the new challenge and ground infantries rejoice because the game is more balanced (BF2 is meant to be balanced), hey i dont mind getting shot down a few times and the improved AA will decrease carrier raping.

As for a top score I got a 90 score on Sharqi today, with the cobra. Only because I could go behind buildings... I did start out trying to kill them with my gunner and guess what we killed 2 of them, and ended up getting hit and killed still. I have talked to experienced pilots that you speak up, obviously because your not one of them. You have no clue, as to what your talking about.

The best advice I can give my fellow helo. pilots is this: If your team fails to keep the AA (mobile and stationary supressed), and could care less about calling them out for you, f*ck them. That's right. Let them know that you will be giving 0 support throughout the round, and stick to the easy pickings. The lone infantry or 2-3 man squad that cuts through the long routes, away from the AA. You can still rack up enough points to medal with such tactics on certain maps.

On heavily biased, now ******** maps such as ghost town, you are limited to one tactic. Assuming you can get the helo. off the preliminary pad (good ****ing luck with that. Seriously...), stick to the border of the map (bridge area), and gank the kills away from squads that call them out. Never engage a mobile that is unengaged. Wait till your targets are busy killing/raping your own men, then go in for the kill while they are preoccupied...NOT A SECOND BEFORE. Its as simple as that.

Unfortunatley ladies and gents, patch 1.2 has divided the battlefield now more than ever in most situations. Think I'm going to risk my ass helping you clear the infantry around that flag for you to cap it, or strafe that tank thats been raping your squad up and down?
        Think again.
Squads and infantry are the order of the day for me, as well as many other of my comrades out there, as the time and lineup required to engage vehicles is no longer worth the risk/reward ratio, and is hardly plausible with the unbreakable AA.

One final note: On large maps with spread out AA, make it a point to spawn rape those little ****ers as soon as they get into those stationaries. And get in they will. Over. And over. And over. AA is the new point whore for the grunts, and they love it to death. Use this to your point advantage. You can flare through the first missle he fires off provided you are strafing sideways as its coming towards you. The second is guarenteed to hit you. That leaves you with 75% health, and 3-4 seconds before his second salvo is ready. Thus, it can be done with as little as 25% health loss, up to 75%, but it is doable. Make it a point. F*ck up these simpleton grunts. Our day is far from over.

I may take the time to post a guide soon with new tactics to counter the aimbot AA, but maybe not. I will admit, it IS nice not having to fight for the helo. Half the time its sitting there lonely, the other half its up in the air for less than 10 seconds. Ah the bliss.

PM me if you want a guide. Enough intrest and Ill create one.

LOL I went 31-1 (in a plane) on a 32 man server. If you get killed while flying now. Give it up. Your NO PILOT.

I nod to the last post. I was seriously awaiting a hardcore and furious post which even had some content and tips.

The guys playing infantry only and now shake their first and laugh pilots in the face, zero respect for the. People didnt appreciate that friendly plane/chopper killing armor for you before but they DID notice the OpFors killing you. They didnt appreciate the firendly chopper taking out that tank, but they DID get ****ed that you got 2-4 points.

The ultimate pointhoggers, scorewhores are the people whining about jets being "overpowered" because truth to be told- you only get killed more than 2 times during a round by a jet is when you sit at the carrier or air strip.
