Today we are testing AA and air combat, and guess what I got?

13-0, I shot down multiple J10, as well as AA

tips for surviving the new system:

1. Fly high, don't come down, don't go into the enemy bases, those are hot zone now.

2. Watch for enemy fighters, and launch missiles before he gets to launch his.

3. always naturalize the AA first, make killing AA your first priority. Until your ground forces capture the AA spawn, don't expect to bomb.

4. NEVER, and I say NEVER, enter an area where there are more than 2 AAs firing at the same time. AA has 100% accuracy now

As I said before...skill was an issue in 1.12, you needed it to take down CHOPPERS...now it takes ZERO skill to take down ALL aircraft...what a ******** patch...

Aircraft that actually fly CLEAR of the stingers can still strafe/bomb them every single time. As before, sticking around long enough to get a lock and clear the flares exposes you to enemy fire for a VERY long time.

Your argument in the other thread that the TOW requires guidance is ridiculous. WOW, what skill, I can point it at the tank, then I can KEEP it pointed at the tank. In fact, the guidance makes it take LESS skill because now you don't have to lead your target AT ALL! The argument's extra-moronic since there's not a single TOW capable of a shot so long-range that the guidance requires any "skill" unless you're shooting down a chopper.

The TOW is zero skill, but guess why the TOW isn't god? Because if someone's prepared for it, you're just gonna die. The AA is exactly the same way, STRAFE IT, BOMB IT, HAVE YOUR GUNNER ATTACK IT. I just flew AH in several rounds and I could knock the stingers out before the flares finished dropping.

The good players will adapt. The bad players will cry that their free impossibly-high K/D no longer exists.

I'M SICK of you WHINERS saying it takes ZERO SKILL to take down an aircraft!!!! That's ONLY TRUE if you fly like pre-1.2 cheap whores. If you are a skilled pilot and fly high like you should and not just base-rape, then you'll be hard to hit.

It's like complaining it takes ZERO SKILL to kill someone who is not moving, at point blank range. WELL GODDAMN GET MOVING AND FIGHT!

no offense dude, but fly is pretty easy too, sometimes even easier than waiting for the tone.

You are the aggressor, you choose the engagement opportunity. AA is the defender. Defender must be stronger than aggressor to make it even.

None! Who cares? How much skill does it take to pilot an AT missile into a tank?

The skill is not in firing the weapon, the skill is in picking a good time to fire so you don't get blasted yourself instead of making the kill, which STILL exists if you're up against pilots with enough brain to shoot the thing that's making their alarm go off.

I thought those were common sense things even before the patch. :p

I'm glad jets can still own. Is it because I like to fly jets? Not quite. It's because the people who sucked before the patch and cried to the Retard Catering Service, also known as Electronic Arts, are still going to suck after the patch.

I also don't believe the missiles at 100% accurate, the tracking system is flawed, so there has to be some new way to throw it. Just might take time to adjust.

Serioysly how can people keep saying flying is easy? I've seen less than twenty really skilled pilots in BF2 and three of those are in my clan. Yes you can get a better score than someone on foot if you're half decent but what does that have to do with anything?

Also note that I'm almost happy with how lethal the AA is. I just wish they'd gone down another route without autoaim. My vote was for a truly effective cannon for the linebacker/tunguska. Make them put a jet on fire in a couple of hits, give them a lead indicator and put them on more maps.

More than your mother can muster I would assume. If theres a distance or movement perpendicular to yours a newbie is going to have a hard time. I know I did in the demo. Everything is easy once you know how to do it but there is zero learning curve on the AA.

That's about survivability not accuracy. If infantry weapons were one hundred percent accurate on targets you can see, would you claim the skill was in not being seen?
