I gave it a 6 .

-1 point for the screwed up nerf on the noob tube, the nade doesn't bounce
-1 point for the jumping thing, you can't jump true windows anymore, wich is important in SF
-1 point for overpowering the AA
-1 point for doing something wrong in the code wich causes some lag while using AT weapon

It's not how good you think the patch is, its how much whinging you've done since installation.

1-Alot of whinging (i hate this game because people still kill me)
10- No whinging (i still kill people and die alot, but i do it more honourably)

I gave the god damn thing 1 (would be zero if I could). It's not that I don't like the idea of the patch it's because BF2 won't boot anymore.

SF hasn't worked properly since I bought it and now BF2 won't work either. Not very impressed with EA/DICE right now.

What is the game doing? Does it try to start, but then goto a black screen and then CTD?

If so, goto your My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\ and open up the folders under the 'profiles' folder and then open the 'video.con' file with notepad or other text editor and edit this line -- VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@85Hz. so that the 'HZ' is equal to your desktop... I have to set mine to 85hz for the game to start..

haven't played enough to really vote yet.

Props for the better damage on Heli's stop the hovering flag capping crap. Nice tank round makes em back-off quick enough :)
Stingers actually hit things when you are locked on and they don't drop flares, imagine that.
No firing while jumping, seems to make sense. Should be a good thing.
Throwing grenades now, damn talk about a fast pitch. Nice range increase.
Defibs recharge passively, very nice.

I have a match tomorrow night and we will be using the new patch, so we will see how things look :)

Yes thats what it's doing but the refresh rates are the same and it used to work just fine before the patch. Thanks for trying to help out anyway.

You might have downloaded a phony version of the patch. Try downloading it from TBF2? I'm not sure where everyone downloaded theirs from, and I havn't downloaded it yet on my rig.

Nah I downloaded it from Internode so it should be the real thing. I just can't believe that EA/DICE can release patches that cause so many problems. No other company seems to be able to screw things up nearly as well as this unique pair.
