I think all the progress bars are messd up at the moment.
I have 51k and when I logged in just after I'd patched it, it was empty. Today it was full, but according to the new ranks I need 9k. Go figure.

progress bar is funny, before patch it was empty, then efter patch it was full, then suddenly it was half full and now it's full but I do need 5k for next rank .

This must be so hard to code something so simple at dice office

Anybody know if they have changed the ranks so if you are missing a badge for a rank, you will rank up when you get that badge? Because if they haven't, nobody is ever going to get above Colonel.

I'm currently a master sergeant...before the patch I was at 2% to the next rank, but after the patch according to BFHQ I am at almost the maximum before the next rank...are you sure that the lower NCO ranks didn't change some?

I have over 60k points & still havn't got ranked up to 2nd Lt, anyone know why?

I agree, I dont see anyone getting General for a year or so. Having expert in all 5 vehicles is 1400 hours. They could have done expert in 2 out of the 5 instead. Even with that, there would still only be like 3 generals.

Has anyone seen a brigadier general? I havent and I should be one with 183,000. I cant see anyone getting all the expert vehicle badges....thats 1400 hours just in vehicles alone.

B4 he new ranking system I saw there was a guy named

who was Sgt.Major of the Corps. This was maybe 4 days ago. I'm sure with the patch he's now jumped about 5 ranks along with the rest of the top players.
His name may have had underscores or hyphens between the words though, like:
Thing_on_a_Spring

Anyways.......he's the only chap I've seen with the rank of Sgt.Major of the Corps. And don't ask because I have no idea how he got it.

Also agree on foolish General reqs.

The 1 star should have been Expert kits, followed by the 2 star being the Expert vehicles if anything...

Or as someone sugested, do half and half on the vehicles.

A perfect pattern IMO:

1 star: 7 Gold kits
2 star: 7 Gold "other badges", (knife, pistol, explos, repair, heal, ammo, comm), + the 1st star
3 star: Gold transport, ground and Air(3 total), + the 2nd star
4 star: the 3 Gold vehicles(armor, helo, plane), + the 3rd star

5 star: yes, there is such a thing, which is why is fits perfectly into EA's "only one per month" scenario.

you cant go from master sergeant to first sergeant

you either get master sergeant if you dont have all the badges, or first sergeant if you do. even if youre master sergeant and u get all the badges, you still wont be promoted.

all basic combat badges = first sergeant
dont have all basic combat badges = master sergeant

all basic vehicle badges = sergeant major
dont have all basic vehicle badges = master gunnery sergeant

New rank sucks, i am First Leuitanant, and since the enemy can see the ranks if you look for about a sec, evrything at or above 1st Leuitanant draws so much attention that you will get like snipers and 3 support on your ass.

LOL yeah true, I was playing and a bird colonel went past, I went scammering after him to bag my first colonel, made my afternoon playing session it did.
