Re: The One Rank List to Rule Them All

I totally agree, many of these ranks (especially the higher ones) do seem a bit far fetched in terms of the badges needed.

Points for the officer ranks are too low imo.

      30k needed for 1stSgt. > Sgt.Major but only10k needed for Sgt.Major > 2lt??

Yep. I'm stuck at first sergeant right now. I think it's the longest gap in the entire process.

You need to add if you get a unlock at each rank

All rank requirements are wrong! The previous rank is also a requirement. That's why the "top" guys are only colonel.

I have all the basic combat badges listed above for First Sergent and 34,000 pts yet I am still Master Sergent. I am missing basic explosive, engineer, and command. Are these also necessary for First Sergent?

                        • At 20,000 points, when you earn your rank, a check is made. If you have all the basic combat badges, you will go up to First Sergeant. If you do not, you go up to Master Sergeant.
                        • No other checks are made until the next rank. That means if you get that one basic combat badge you were missing at 21,458, you will not suddenly get promoted to First Sergeant. You will remain a Master Sergeant.
                        • At 50,000 points, another check is made. If you have the required badges, you will become Sergeant Major (regardless of whether or not you were First/Master previously). If you do not, you become a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
                        • No additional checks are made. If you get that badge you were missing at 79,462, you will not suddenly go up in rank.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer Salad. I guess I should have been paying more attention to the badges before. I will look forward to the 50k mark.

I believe the progress bar is indicative of the points between the rank you are at and the next rank. For example, I am a gunnery sergeant and I almost have 10000 points, but my progress bar is not at the halfway mark. 20000- 8000pts=12000pts, so my progress bar should be at the halfway mark when I reach 14000pts [8000+(12000/2)]. Make sense? :p
