Damnit, I was expecting a new rank

I honestly think that the gap between gunnery sgt and first sgt is WAY too big...I've been a gunnery sgt since october and would REALLY like to see another stripe or two. The new patch is great for all the poeple that are able to spend 6 hours a day playing this game, but it seems to have left all of the casual players in the dust. I only have about 15k at this point and really don't know if I'll even be playing this game by the time I get 20k.

Yea lets make everyone generall..Good point..Because god forbid we actually award the good players that play hard and put in the time...Wake up the_waffer and actually play.Nothing in life is just given to you.

BTW: Does anyone know if they lowered Serg Major..i hope they didn't

Ranks wont make you a better player. In fact ive been a gunnery sgt for 3 months now and dont plan on gaining rank since i need my knife badge. Which i dont care about.

I gotta agree with waffler, its taken me since mid october to get to 1st Sgt and now im expected to more then double my score! so am i reasonably expected to play untill mid june at a rate of nearly 2-3 hrs a day to get promoted?!
Fair cop dont just give all the unlocks away for nothing as it would make it less of a status symbol but people have shelled out good money for a GAME(!) which they want to have fun on, if the rewards are virtually unattainable then they wont have fun!

Right behind you waffler. I just passed the 10.000 mark so i know the feeling. I play this game for fun but do like to be rewarded for the effort i put in. With the current ranking i don't really get that feeling.

Sure alle the hotshots will start flaming. So be it. Some of us do have a job you know!

you think that gap is big? Well what am i supposed to do for the 30,000 pts gap? I have been first sgt for 2 months now and i am only at 36,000

The 10k gap went quicker than I expected. My play got better and SPM went up so that wasnt an issue. Likely I wont see my next rank at 55k untill end of summer if Im still playing by then.

NOT EVERYONE IS "EXPECTED" TO BE A GENERAL!

Ranks are just an ancillary part of the game, play for fun.

BTW, I'm 2,000 points from being a Captain.

if you got all your ranks, badges ,medals and ribbons.of a few months of play then you be playing for nothing and stop play.the req. are there for one reason is to keep you playing there game for as long as posible.cuse they need u to play.they are not just making money off the game but off the people that rent there servers.so if they made it to easy people would quit playing which means they loss money.

sure i try to get all that stuff.but i dont need it.i play to have fun with my friends and clan mates.just keep one thing in mind it just a game.play and have fun.

Im not saying that everyone should expect to be a general let alone quickly however the gap between ranks rises VERY rapidly!
Its just nice to have something to aim for and when people get promoted it re-vitalises the game. same with medals/ribbons etc little things like that keep an interest there

ps I know this is a seperate question but I cant seem to get the new weapons despite having unlocked them!

ah reminds me of the good ol' days where the gap was even larger...I'm at 74K points and I went up two ranks (using yesterdays "patch"), I think I'm a 1st Lieutenant (1 silver bar)...

Well im on about 32k and I've been playing seriously since christmas (1.5 months) it seems a bit steep at first but once you get into the swing of things and you concentrait on getting badges, ribbons etc then you'll find you get something or other every week.
