      1) P90 = Crap
      2) G3 = Pleasing
      3) L8 = Actually usable
      4) Prone/Crouch Delays = Hard to get used to, and they cause all sorts of pauses when you feel like you oughta be shooting
      5) We've ushered in the Era of Armor since attack helicopters and jets are far more challenged by the AA and there are about half as many Spec Ops active at any given time
      6) I saw a lot less noob tubing - you can shoot at your feet but it doesn't explode immediately since there's a pause for the timer
      7) Saw a lot of people try to jump and throw C4 - they just hopped and died

I'm not sure what to make of it, but the 5-6 rounds I played tonight (with 1.2) were the worst rounds I've had for many months. Very frustrating.

What it means is choppers will have to be flying faster now to avoid be taken down. They'll have to perform sweeps over enemy locations instead of hovering over flags and base-rapping spawning infantry.

They should reset the "aviator" stats completely. Get rid of all the kills, all the deaths, all the KDR, everything. Gone. No more "I have a KDR of 1520\1 in a plane, I am 1337".

A bit of a strange one this. While waiting, decided to have a go in single player. Where normally you'd prone in mid-air while jumping over a wall, you now have to wait until you land again before you can prone. After several attempts though, I'm pretty used to the change already. :)

Glad I got my expert explosives before the patch, it's a pain to use now. You can't jump and throw and throwing normally doesn't seemed to have changed for C4. Expect to be crushed alot trying to C4 tanks/APC's.

I found the n00b tube to bet idiot proof. With the minimal amount of distance having to be travled before it explodes, no more n00b's killing themselves when shooting at someone 3-4 meters away.

Na, they should wipe everyones stats and record vehicle stats separate from kits stats.

This is going to be a good day.

                  1) Too many snipers with the AWP
                  2) Noobtubing is still possible, and the grenade paths are messed up when it decides to bounce.
                  3) Everyone loves tanks
                  4) The slower prone animation is irritating
                  5) P90 is crap. Might as well have a pistol.
                  6) Support weapons not as good as I anticipated...I find that now I've reverted to 1.12 I do alot better as support.
                  7) G3 is better but not as good as it should be.
                  8) L85 is okay but I'd rather use my G36E.

Big disappointment. Hopefully the leaked copies were BETA releases so the official one should fix the annoyances.

Re: Official 1.2 Aftermath Thread (Post Your Thoughts and Such)

i played with the new patch for a couple of hours now, and i can say this patch made me not want to buy anymore battlefield series games that come out after this one, its just awfull.

-the engineer now only needs a flashing bullseye, in the chest and in the head cause now i only need to spawn to get killed instantaniously, i cant jump and throw mines anymore (what next, make us throw pies to get the tanks dirty?)
-the prone animation thing is bugged, i tried to go prone next to a wall and some of the times i did it, i ended up falling on the other side of it
-for some reason the pump shotgun is weaker (needed 3 shots to kill ppl just like the jackhammer)
                    - a guy in a mec transport chopper picked me up to help me and he got killed by a jeep in a few seconds, didn have time to fly to safety.

thats the stuff i've found so far...

                    the good things are
                    -faster game performance
                    -and amazingly improved loading time

Well the patch and thus the unlock is only just out so everyone is going to want to test it out...

It will balance out over time and while snipers may be a little more deadly over distance they are still as fragile as ever and little use in a stand up fight capping a flag or against armour...

I downloaded the "patch" but it would not install for me so I left it until the offical release came out... BUt from reading the comments and complaint I think things sound very encouraging and what we and seeing is a general increase in the threat level in the game which will hopefully lead to the death of the supermen and encourage more teamplay...

To be honest I like the new patch ^^

Shooting seems more reliable and the support class is really starting to come into its own.. something I feel was missing before.. A guy lying on his belly with a bigass machinegun should be able to actually lay down effective suppressing fire

Sniping class is also alot better.. You shouldnt be able to stand around for too long when there's a high precision firearm aiming at you anyway.. I think the increased accuracy will actually make people think about how they approach targets from now on instead of just running every which way without thinking of cover..

G3 and the medic tier one gun are alot better now too, something that annoyed me to no end earlier..

Game seems more polished overall and the best thing is that the spec ops class isnt so prominent anymore There's something wrong with the balance when 40 out of 64 guys on a server play spec ops..

Played a little on Oman aswell and the planes dont seem to be so overpowering anymore either.. The UAV is awesome when you see it soar overhead ^^

So far I have to say that EA have come through for me ^^ I actually feel like I have a reliable chance at hitting something when I shoot at ppl..

Good job EA! Now all you need to do is GIVE ME MY FRIGGIN UNLOCKS BACK!!

Stupid mothers sprang those damn unlocks on me unawares so now Im stuck with the damn SCAR-L and that horrible MG36 or whatever..

The airdefense rules, sniper rifles snipe, frame rates seem maxed out near 97 for me in the smaller servers, 50+ in the 64 player servers. A little slower in loading in my RAID 0 I am enjoying the fruits of the good works on this most excellent patch.

The sniper rifle Barrett killed 6 people on two clips flat the first 5 being one shot deals and the last one requiring a extra few. Shortly after I capped 3 more in the same area. Most excellent sniping since another game with a different company.

The defining moment came earlier tonight when Three Cobras showed up near my friendly base with me on a Tungsuka. While waiting for them to flare and firing two missiles each for kills, engaging the third with the gun while reloading the missiles just in time to kill that chopper when I got engaged by a Eagle intent on killing my unit. I damaged him badly enough so that he burned up.

None of that was possible prior to this patch.

The air combat is first class. The missiles work. Occasionally they go off track but when you carefully choose when to fire they go straight in. But I must warn you, against pilots who understand how to stay on your tail, you are finished once they get behind you.

Ive seen people try to bunny hop throwing grenades a bit further. I have a feeling grenades will be the next popular thing in Karkand and similar.

The computer seemed to breathe much better in combat, things can be done even in the worst of fights in the air or on land. Not a stutter to be seen anywhere.

                          One person made a comment:

"Now this is modern combat!" when he was apparently deeply engaged with the enemy. I wish I had a screenie of that one as it sums it all up.

Sure there were some little nit picking irritating things like loading with the rest of the ATA 100 masses with my SATA RAID 0 at the same time. Bleah. But upgrades are in the future. =>

                          Final Verdict:

Get it, learn it and start pwning.
Great post, and worthy of a full quote.

There is definitely going to be a learning curve with this patch, but I personally think in the end it's going to be for the better. Due to the changes I see the overall gameplay slowing down a bit - instead of everyone running around bunny hopping and spamming, people may now take a more cautious and tactical approach.

Weapons are more deadly, and movement is less sporatic.

I'm somewhat of a tank whore myself, and I'd like to comment that tanks have always been kept in check on the battlefield. The AT class being the most powerful - considering they can hide anywhere, they can fire on tanks at long range, and they're available for every map. But there's also Spec Ops, stationary TOW's (extremely deadly) and aircraft. Not to mention other tanks.
