My thoughts, I noticed that Noob tubing was definetly still possible, just with the added aid of bounce and bullet drop, it's not as accurate but notice dit was still being carried around and used. The p90 seems to have a slow fire rate and not too much damage but seems to be a nice gun, the l96 seemed to do as Much damage as the m95 but with A good accurate scope and intresting sound. PKM (If aimed) seemed accurate along with many othe guns. For me the mp6 seemed quite the same, just more accurate with less spray.

Ammo packs can not be thrown whilst in air, but they do seem to be thrown further as the patch notes suggest. Same with grenades, Took a while of getting correct but it is possible to throw them far distances. Tanks took 3 simple AT's hits, nice and quick. Seems to be much easier to kill people now. Bunny hopping still is an issue as far as I saw, people were still hopping even though they couldn't shoot whilst doing so.

    Your thoughts ?

Re: Official 1.2 Aftermath Thread (Post Your Thoughts and Such)

This patch represents the best in gaming IMHO.

The airdefense rules, sniper rifles snipe, frame rates seem maxed out near 97 for me in the smaller servers, 50+ in the 64 player servers. A little slower in loading in my RAID 0 I am enjoying the fruits of the good works on this most excellent patch.

The sniper rifle Barrett killed 6 people on two clips flat the first 5 being one shot deals and the last one requiring a extra few. Shortly after I capped 3 more in the same area. Most excellent sniping since another game with a different company.

The defining moment came earlier tonight when Three Cobras showed up near my friendly base with me on a Tungsuka. While waiting for them to flare and firing two missiles each for kills, engaging the third with the gun while reloading the missiles just in time to kill that chopper when I got engaged by a Eagle intent on killing my unit. I damaged him badly enough so that he burned up.

None of that was possible prior to this patch.

The air combat is first class. The missiles work. Occasionally they go off track but when you carefully choose when to fire they go straight in. But I must warn you, against pilots who understand how to stay on your tail, you are finished once they get behind you.

Ive seen people try to bunny hop throwing grenades a bit further. I have a feeling grenades will be the next popular thing in Karkand and similar.

The computer seemed to breathe much better in combat, things can be done even in the worst of fights in the air or on land. Not a stutter to be seen anywhere.

            One person made a comment:

"Now this is modern combat!" when he was apparently deeply engaged with the enemy. I wish I had a screenie of that one as it sums it all up.

Sure there were some little nit picking irritating things like loading with the rest of the ATA 100 masses with my SATA RAID 0 at the same time. Bleah. But upgrades are in the future. =>

            Final Verdict:

Get it, learn it and start pwning.

So you were able to kill 3 choppers and damage a plane and you call this balanced? Do you have any concept of balance?

IMO EA has dropped the ball huge, I have no idea how they could have screwed this up so badly. I rarely ever fly, but to make the jets practically useless like they have done is to take out a unique aspects of the game, why don"t we just turn it into CS.

Other changes aren't bad, the Red/Blue bug is happening still, and arguably worse than ever in some servers it seems. Support was made a bit too powerful. Why did EA feel it was necessary to make such huge changes, its called tweaking, not increasing accuracy by 7 times.

Anyway, Stingers are now very accurate, try shooting at a tank. 1 c4 on Any Helicopter will take it out. Attack chopper seems to be nerfed way too much, unless your a very stable pilot, good luck taking out tanks with your missles, you will have to rely steadily on your co-pilot and rely on teamwork. The Patch definetly seems to emphasise on teamwork,

Next time I pilot this guy named BigT, I'll fraps it. We got teamwork down to the last T when we work together. On Dalian Plant while playing as Angry Chinamen, the blackhawks don't stand a chance because he is one badass mofo with the TV missile!!! Out of 12 choppers down, he only missed two shots! Hopefully we can do the same after the 1.2 patch because the TV missiles have had their range reduced.

I love this patch. Best thing to happen to BF2. It actually turned it into an FPS.

I can't wait til the official patch is released and CAL and TWL approve it. Tired of the bunnyhopping, c4 chucking, 600m chopper shots.

saggyb has a point. Its now more on foot or on the field where u may survive better, but taking out 3 choppers and messin up a jet to near death is way to unbalanced, its like an Anti Tank taking out 3 tanks and an APC with only, yes only, 6 rockets. Only its an AA taking out 3 choppers and almost a jet.

Surely now chopper pilots will have to fly their choppers as choppers, rather than the mobile fortresses they were before? :p

I mean, if you start using terrain to hide, make pop-up attacks with TV missiles etc.. then that's not too bad, right?

I didn't try the patch yet, But I can imagine.
I am an oklish chopper pilot, can fly pretty long if I have a good gunner.
I believe I can still manage to dodge the stringers by some barrel turns and flares....

HOWEVER, a .5 gun can take out a cobra in 5 seconds...that's something it needs to be fixed....
Before the patch, 7 seconds to shoot down a chopper is pretty reasonable indeed, I can still able to dodge it 60% of the time and return to helipad for repair.

but 5 seconds itsn't gettin me anywhere....
Shooting down a buggy/FAV require 2 seconds for the gunners...(provided he spotted it already)

Beside that, I guess I can live w/ others.

8 missiles, I can shoot down a tank in 6 or less, I don't spam my missiles like others...., Often I always has a couple left after shooting down a target.

shorter tv missiles distance , fine to me also......
