Need help with some badges!

Hi there!

I've 2.000 points left to my new rank at 20.000 points, and I'm desperate to get two basic badges. The knife and the pistol badge!
I've heard that both of these are quite easy to get, but somehow I can't seem to get them so easy. Anyone has any hints, tips, tricks or advice on how to claim these badges? Which map to play, where to stand/rush etc.?
I'd be really happy if someone could lighten up my day with something .

K First off forget about points from now on you need to get these badges first, k.

Now find a karkand map that has high points..Or a 64 player map with less then 20 people. That will ensure the longitivity of the game.

From he its easy..Talk to your commander or have a friend do it and sneak up behind people and stab them..You only need 7..Trying jumping and stabbing down and jump around liek a crazy man so they cant hit you..Also be a medic so you can heal yourself..

For pistol, just be support (heavy armour) and just run up and shot 5 people..very very easy.

I got both my bas. pistol/knife and veteran pistol/knife on Karkand. The key to getting the bulk of your kills is the Hotel spawnpoint. As USMC, spawn forward and rush down the street to the right of the spawnpoint. Lurk at the corner of the alley accessways. People tend to rush right to the area with the boxes south of the hotel flag and congregate. Peek around the corner, and then run in and get a few easy knife kills. If you survive that, rush building with the ladder right next to the spawnpoint. Inevitable, someone will be sniping or laying down covering fire with the MG. Leap across and do the bidness. Alternatively, you can lurk on that rooftop and watch people as they run down alleyways. Leap down, follow, murder.

Also try running right past the flag, down the stairs to that little alcove near the dumpster. You can usually get a sniper or two around that area, or get lucky and knife a guy in the butt as he climbs the ladder.

As the map progresses, there is usually a logjam in the alley behind the Tow Missle at the Market flag, or someone will be on the emplaced MG.

Comms and AT's like to lurk at the little villa near the Suburb flag. Approach it from the west and pray for rain.

You really have to chance your mentality from "Soldier" to "Horror Movie Slasher". Lurk around corners, follow people, hide on rooftops, go to known sniper nests, whatever it takes.

You can pretty much do the exact same thing to get your pistol badge. I got around 4 kills from the rooftop adjacent the Hotel flag before someone sent me a grenade fed-ex. Don't be shy to plink at someone from a distance. It's a shame to die with a full magazine...

I found that medic was really helpful. Good sprint bar, can heal yourself, and can revive teammates for some extra points here and there. AT and Support are nice because of the armor, but the sprint bar will be your best friend.

They are easy. I could get both in the same round and that's not bragging. You just need to know how to use the weapons. With knives you need UAVs definetly. With pistols just play ninja and shoot people from the side or back. Don't listen to the "shoot with main gun then pull pistol out" BS because I can get 20 pistols kills in a round with JUST pistol.

Pistols are the most accurate guns in the game. Learn to use them and you can kill anyone.

There are different schools of thought about which kit is best for the pistol badge (knife too, I suppose). You can go with armor, a medic for heals, or a silenced pistol for stealth. If you're having trouble with one kit try a differnt one.

I got my knife badge on Sharqi running around inside the construction site. Very dark and easy to sneak up on snipers...

One thing you have to do is :

Commit to the task.

From the start of the map, you need to think to yourself, "to hell with my points or K : D , I need to kill with only knife or only pistol". I find the biggest hinderance on trying for these badges, is you simply run out of time on the map.

Pistol Badge

easiest to get as a sniper. Shot someone once and generally speaking 1-3 shots with a pistol, depending on the class you're shooting, will get you a pistol kill. Saves sniper ammo, gets you a badge. I got my pistol badges by mistake.

if you do, its easier to right-click first. I'll give you a tip and then a fact about when i was playing which may help.
If your looking to knife people, On top of buildings is your best bet, especially in warlord. People will be lying there sniping. Or you could try lying in the bushes at the Plaza (warlord) and when poeple come to capture it you crwal out and knife them.
As far as the pistol goes.....here's the fact....
I came face to face with a enemy medic in a alley. I happened to have my pistol out and he had his Machine gun thing. I aimed in is general direction and clicked as fast as a could, as many times as a could. He shot me with two bursts of the gun before i killed him with my pistol.

Pistol Badge:-Go medic, get yourself to an elevated position overlooking popular enemy CP, lay down a carpet of medic bags and go prone with pistol. Normally after a few shots the enemy return fire, but everytime you are hit you will be healed by medic bags. After a few kills move, rinse and repeat.
Knife Badge:-Go Assault with F2000, use UAV to locate concentrations of enemy infantry. When near enough deploy Flashbang and run in with knife!! Rinse and repeat.

What is the easiest way to the Commander Badge?

Find a 24/7 Karkand server with a 64 player map and be commander of the USMC.
