Does leaving fps tracking thing effect performance?

I usually leave the thing that displays fps on just out of interest, does it effect performance in any way?

No, it doesn't. In fact, the game tracks your FPS whether you actually display it or not, it's just a timing number is all. Actually drawing it to the screen is a minimal operating when compared to what the rendering engine is already doing.

Of note though, how DO you turn on the FPS tracker in BF2?

Bring up the console, and type "Renderer.drawFPS 1". Caps matter, I think. Don't type the speech marks.

I prefer to use fraps though.

Caps don't matter. Just the space after fps and 1.

is there a way to keep it permanently on, since every time you restart BF2 it goes away

Another related question-it shows two numbers (xx.x/xx.x). I assume the first is FPS. What is the second?

Not sure..The second number goes higher if your FPS goes lower.

To be honest, I am not even sure if the space matters and caps certainly do not matter . . . well, at least, if you write it in all lowercase you will be fine. If someone here uses caps, then I definitely doesn't matter.

One of the numbers is fps and the other number is time between frames in ms. They are just inverse of each other.

Why have both? I have no idea.

no one is current fps and the other is average fps not sure which way round thx for the help.

I thought the other number was ms between frames or something...do a search, people have been speculating on that one for a while.

and there is no load on system
and FRAPS IS a Load
