We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.

Ever since the screeching sounds issue (that seems to have been fixed), the game has been stuttering on my system, just as described here. It ran perfectly before, and still runs absolutely fine on single player, but on multiplayer it's hell.
I tried disabling VoIP and setting sound to hardware, which seemed to make very little difference, if any.
I hoped that the new patch would fix it, but again it hasn't changed a thing. I'm quite sure that this is nothing to do with my comp, and something to do with BF2 itself, since this has only started happening after the screeching stuff.
Any ideas, and is anyone else still having this problem?
Re: Really bad stutter when looking around (On Multiplayer)
Thanks for the replies guys. I tinkered around with the Video options, and managed to get a nice working setup. Ive got the Terrain,Effects,Textures & Lighting on Medium, with the Geometry on Low (Having that on Medium seemed to heavily affect the stutter), and Dynamic Light/Shadows on Off, Filtering on Low and Draw Distance on 75%. The game now runs smoothly on 800x600 and im back enjoying the game :) Only thing thats really starting to do my nut is this "CD Key Invalid" thing..........ive had to re-install about 5 times now
Re: Really bad stutter when looking around (On Multiplayer)
I have the same problem, and my computer used to handle it fine. Tried everything like updating punkbuster, disabling EAX, you name it.
Don't try to say it is their hardware, cuz look at my signature. I should be able to run with everything on high, and I can, in singleplayer. But as soon as I get into multiplayer I get lag whenever I try to turn.
This is the ONLY game this happens in. I play Call Of Duty 2 on the internet and it works fine. I am NOT using a wireless setup and I am not on a router, and I have my firewall disabled along with virusscan when I play.
Here are a few other things I tried, which others have claimed worked for them.
1. Download gamexp - this actually did help me, for one night, and now it's bad again.
2. In a server using punkbuster (after manually updating pb), hit tilde (~) and type "pb_sleep 500" then "pb_writecfg". This sets the punkbuster scans to their minimum amount. This didn't help me at all, but many have claimed it helped them for a similar problem.
I have tried running the game with everything on low and I still get the stuttering. I paid a lot of money for the parts I have, this should not be happening!
Re: Really bad stutter when looking around (On Multiplayer)
I have contacted EA and spoke to one person in particular about this issue as I have had this problem for some time even before the latest patch…
I have a top spec comp that ran this game fine for months.
What he said over the phone was that this problem has not been experienced within their department as apparently the entire EA team plays BF2.
However he asked for me to E-mail him with an attachment of the DxDiag and an explanation of what I’m experiencing.
I’ve done this and recommend everyone that is getting this to do the same as this will not only make it more than clear that there is something wrong but help them sort this out.
I even pointed out this forum for him to look over as it seemed quite clear that none of the EA team knew how much chaos is going down as of late with BF2.
The more people behind this, the more pressure to get things fixed as it’s clear this problem is out of our hands!
You can fine the number to contact them in the back of your BF2 manul..
Re: Really bad stutter when looking around (On Multiplayer)
Since updating to 1.2 I have been having erratic skipping when playing Battlefield 2. I know it's not my mouse because it is a top of the range gamers mouse with the latest drivers. I have updated my drivers for my graphics card and that still didnt help. Pre 1.2 it worked fine but now this skipping is really annoying. Its like I am locked onto someone to go and shoot them, then all of a sudden it's skip and my crosshair is somewhere else.
I will try some of the solutions suggested on here asnd I will post if I experience any further difficulties.
My Specs:
P4 3.2ghz
1gb PC3200 DDR ram
x700 ATI Radeon
120gb Maxtor HDD
DVD R/W x8 Speed
120gb Freecom External USB HDD
Razer Diamondback Mouse
Saitek Gamers Keyboard
Update:
None of the solutions posted work which leads me to believe that its a bug with the 1.2 patch.
Re: Really bad stutter when looking around (On Multiplayer)
I fixed my problem by completely reformatting and reinstalling windows. I had some other major problems that system restore couldn't fix, so I just started over. If reinstalling windows is not an option for you, try completely uninstalling BF2 (player profiles and everything), and punkbuster, then delete anything it leaves behind, including the battlefield 2 folder in "my documents". Then run a registry cleaner, regcleanr is a free one, and reinstall bf2. Hope this helps you guys.
Also sending your dxdiag to EA is a great idea, there are a lot of people with this problem, help EA fix it!

Done all of the above but still no joy. Gonna try it without installing the 1.2 patch and see what happens then.
