        Re: New Nvidia Drivers Today 02/07/06

        Plus I tried uninstalling them to put on 81.98 and because coolbits edits the registry, it f-ed up my windows, and I had to boot from the operating system CD to fix it, it would not load windows.
        Coolbits makes those entries in the registry:
        Code:
        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
        "NvCplExposeWin2kDualView"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplTvLocaleAutoDetect"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplAllowForceTVDetection"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplEnableActiveApp"=dword:00000001
        "DisableApplyColorsAtStartup"=dword:00000000
        "NoMenus"=dword:00000000
        "OverlayPageState"=dword:00000000
        "CinematicPageState"=dword:000000ff
        "NvCplThermalSettings"=dword:00000020
        "NvCplEnableScreenMenuPage"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplCustomResConfig"=dword:00000000
        "NvCplEnableAdditionalInfoPage"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplDisablePerfQualPage"=hex:00,00,00,00
        "NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
        "CoolBits"=dword:ffffffff
        "NvCplEnableOverlaySpanControl"=dword:00000001
        "TwinViewCapsOverride"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplEnableDesktopOverlapPage"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplEnableTroubleshootingPage"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplDisableRefreshRatePage"=dword:00000000
        "NvCplDisableRotateAngles"=dword:00000000
        "NoPages"=dword:00000000
        "NvCplEnableClearViewPage"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplEnableFanControl"=dword:00000003
        "NvCplEnableFrameSyncPage"=dword:00000001

        "NvCplEnablePwrMzrOnDesktopMenu"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplEnableRotationColorSettings"=dword:00000001
        "NvCplNvThermPage"=dword:00000001
        "PowermizerPreferences"=dword:00000000
        "QTwkEnableModeChangeWarning"=dword:00000001

        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\OpenGL]

        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\OpenGL\Debug]
        "ShaderObjects"=dword:00000001
        Do you really believe that coolbits has something to do with your machine not wanting to boot anymore?
        I seriously doubt it.
        You probably messed up something else in the process of uninstalling and then re-installing new display drivers.

          actually, I have uninstalled many display drivers, but when I did it with the ones with coolbits this problem happened. I uninstalled them, when I rebooted, it said registry error, blah blah tried to install new drivers, no boot. I will give more description later but im at school ^_^

            Did you use Driver Cleaner after uninstalling the drivers, [reboot] and before re-installing new drivers?
            I install Coolbits as a separate registry entry, and have never had the problem you described.

            Keep me posted, sounds interesting :)

              Now its at about 7767, and that aint bad for my pc :)

                  how and where do i get driver cleaner etc. also, why do I have to download anther application to fully uninstall my drivers? dont they get uninstalled when I uninstall nVIDIA display driver in control panel? thats lame in my opinion.

                    http://www.drivercleaner.net
                    Read the instructions carefully before executing.

                    The Nvidia drivers do not get removed totally after uninstalling the drivers. There alre always some "leftovers" in the system directory.
                    That's just how things work in this business.
                    Otherwise it would get boring, wouldn't it?

                              I havent noticed any improvement but the game looks sweet on my set up anyway. To be frank I suspect the only way of telling any difference between different driver sets would be to run 3d mark
