I very much doubt that adult is a large porportion of the buyer demography. College students are the oldest reasonable age group to throughly enjoy this game. I would imagine anyone older than that would be bogged down in their real life obligations.

        Funny...I am an adult, with a job, and a family....yet I play BF2. Nothing personal...but generalize much?

I think what he was trying to say, that little kids that get out of school at 3, do some homework for half an hour, have A LOT more time on their hands than regular hard-working, mouth-feeding, bill-paying adults

I get off work at 5, go home, eat some dinner, get relaxed and play BF2 until I go to bed Mind you, I have no children...but still...adults can find time to game religiously, believe it or not

sorry, most adults I know just aren't into this kinds of stuff. The percentage of gamer in the adult population is A LOT less than in the teen population. To make an adult only game is pretty much business suicide.

Tegan, I believe you can still play a lot of games. People can always balance their priorities. My point is, the vast majority of adults simply don't consider gaming as a part of their life.

                  o_0

just because I don't spend 8+ hours a day mentally masturbating to increase my stats does not mean that I, or the other adults who play this game don't 'thoroughly enjoy this game'

Many of the people I play with are professionals, police officers, system admins, etc. . .

Err, this just isn't back up by fact man. The biggest game buying population is 18-30 year old males, with the majority being in the 24-30 range (you can find this information on the web). You need to remember, the 24-30 year olds of today were the same kids who owned the original Nintendo back in the day, Duck Hunt and all. We grew up gamers, and we stayed gamers. The adult population very much is a major source of video game revenue, a MAJOR source.

                      Re: The "Teen" rating.

It doesn't really matter who the players are, the adult player base simply isn't big enough to warrant a business success.

I say again, from my personal experience, adult gamers are far and in between. Most adults simply don't find time to play even 1-2 hours games a week, not to mention that it's simply not fun for them.

Now I am not saying that adults don't play game, I am a very busy premed student and I play a lot of battlefield, I am just saying that adult gamers are exceptions rather than the norm.

If gaming is really popular in the mainstream world, why don't you see major TV program showing adult gamers everyday? (like in Korea?)

well, guess it's where I live and whom I know made the difference. All my adult friends are professionals or engineers, guess they don't play games much.

All, about how EA spouse whine about how EA abuse their employee, it's a norm in high tech companies.

Yep, Ive still got my original nintendo and my copy of mario world and duck hunt in the closet.

Im not saying make the game adult only. I want it done as a client side mod, like a blood patch. All its really doing is replacing some sounds and effects, something you could do easily on an unpure server for bf1942. It would be like releasing a SOF game with the violence locked, along with a mod to put it back in.

I am an engineer (software) :P So no, that's not it either...

And EA does have crappy work conditions, but not all companies do. Mine doesn't, and I work in the high tech industry.

I dunno where you live, but it seems vastly different than the United States.

I happen to live in San Francisco Bay area, AKA Silicon Valley.

EAHQ is located in redwood city, right across where I live.

I don't know where you live, but I know you don't live in silicon valley.

You're right, I live in Houston Texas, where things seem a mite more civilized than the Silicon Valley, from the way you describe it :P
