it is TRASHTALKING. get over it. its part of the game, you dont have to read it. I enjoy saying "I pwned you noob" because it gives the other player a drive to take me out. Sometimes. Plus it ****es them off.

I'd say most people say it jokingly........ a bit of irony, I have said it in the past just taking the wee (why has it censored **** ffs! :p :cry:). I dont boast about killing 2nd lieutenants, whole squads or noobs. But i guess there are some tards who use that phrase seriously.

Ah, Mr. Chowley, I believe the term 'p1ssed' is censored because it appears to be rude in the US.

Anyway; all people who are new to the game need to adapt and learn from such experiences. Being killed by veterans and other newbs because you've exposed yourself to gunfire is a part of the learning curve. How do we get veteran players if we don't show the 'once newbs' what the real action is all about?

A wise newb would take some time out on SP and LAN to get some practice- by themselves or with friends, to familiarize themselves with BF2, AND the crouch key (let alone ALL the keys) before heading into battle.

As with the issue of victimising and bullying- thats also a part of the real world; it will happen, and I see more benefit of letting newbs deal with them themselves (without underhanded techniques like cheating or hacking; regardless that would be dealt with by the EA, so that they can re-gather their bearings and try again). We've had an issue here in Australia that because school-kids had never had an opportunity to look after themselves in the 'playground environment' (due to adult intervention and implications on self-defense); they grow up as adults who also don't know how to look after themselves in a similar situation even as they've grown up.

While I despise bullying- we should remember it's just a game; I doubt (with a lot of hope) that kids and those so called 'emo's would slit their wrists or commit suicide over being killed one too many times in virtual reality.

You make it sound as if I had a problem. I dont. "I pwned you n00b" is disrespectful, thats all. If you choose to be disrespectful just because its fun, then youre the one having a problem.

last time someone said that to me cause they killed me all but 2 times, after that i went like 20-2 on him. he disconnected before the round finished.

A person who says "I pwn n00bs" doesn't mean he pwns new players. He's meaning that he pwns everyone else because they're all noobs compared to him. The phrase isn't used in a serious manner, though. It's supposed to be funny, unless the user is very young and plays CS.

I dont like pwning anybody. I feel so guilty. A good example was me on Warlord the other day, not alot of players, so I decided to go for my Expert Spec Ops badge. I must of killed the same person in the same place with the same (c4) tatic about 5 times in a row. Then I started killing him with other weapons. I didnt mean to pick on him, he was just always there.
In the end he left the game, and cos of that the game ended, before I could get my badge.
The poor dude. He wasnt a newbs. I think if he was I would of let him kill me a few times.
I understand that it CAN help newbs, to kick their arse. But it also can turn people right off the game. Think about that next time you come across one.

Anyone who says it constantly is pretty much a loser in real life. Why do you have to belittle someone in a video game. Of course there are situations where it is warranted, but I try not to get caught up in stuff like that.

the term 'n00b', is way over used.....

making fun of another because they are new to a game is simply foolish.....name calling, and ridicule is just poor sportsmanship......and good sportsmanship is vital for the enjoyability of any game....

people who are poor sports....includes people who are 'bad losers' and 'bad winners', meaning they act childish and foolish, throwing fits when they loose, or going over-board gloating/insulting when they win, and quite frankly, it is detrimental to an enjoyable playing experience......nobody wants to be around, or subjected to another's nastiness, and negativity.....and the people who subject others to this abuse should really grow up and learn how to behave acceptably amongst other humans...

Leet talk/trashtalk...whatever, I dont pay any attention to it at anytime. Its not anything id say in RL, nobody I know says it so it doesnt enter my head to spam it in game. Its makes you look pretty fkn sad imo but each to there own I suppose:p

Ya, i don't feel good cnstantly killing newbies, cause they're new to the game, not their fault. Although killing noobtubers gives me a good feeling in my heart. :p :)

I looked up the word "noob" on wikipedia just for fun one time, and it specifically referred to it as a gaming term. Then it went on to say that it had different meanings depending on how you spell it. For example, if you spell it n00b, it's supposed to be insulting. (I think a lot of the people that use it in that way are morons for even taking the time to spell it with zeros.) If you spell it newb, it's meant to be encouraging.

Either way, I friggin HATE that stupid word, especially when people use it in this game. There are people that are so busy bragging about killing n00bs and calling each other n00bs, that they're not helping out their squads and I'm getting killed trying to go in and take flags because other people are standing around playing grab ass.
