    Re: The P90

It will be at least as powerful, if not more powerful from the MP5. This game is not reality it is a balance of things, so it is likely that it will have high penetration just because of the design of its bullet which will work better on armored targets and the same effect on unarmored targets. Its damage will likely be around 19-24 and not lower. 19-20+ damage is likely since it has a large magazine size like the PP from the MEC. It is likely it will be similar in sound and maybe design to the MP7 unless they don't do much to the SMGs.

And stop saying the 9mm Parabellum is better when it is used for a different situation. It is not going to penetrate an armored target like the 5.7 will and teh 5.7 will not take a target down as fast like the MP5. Although it could since it has a higher rate of fire and more accurate holding down the trigger.

The P90 is an SMG. usually SMGs suk! if you like the carbines or assault rifles then most likely you will not like any SMG. However, they say that the SMGs will be tweaked for more accuracy after the patch. that is good, but my problem with all SMGs is the low damage. you usually cannot make one-head-shot-kill and they all fall behind carbines and assault rifles.

If you're talking about stopping power up close, then no.. The p90 is not outclassed by most modern rifles (5.56).

Granted, the P90's range is limited at a very tiny 200m. Yet, that's exceptional for a SMG. Also, considering the AK-47's engagement recommendation is only 300m, it's not that far behind the argueable "King of Assault Rifles".

The P90's ammunition fires about the same bullet as the 5.56 I belvie (I could be wrong on this, I'm checking). I'm sure it's around a .22 weight. Maybe a 60gr or so. The M4 is just a hyped up varmit rifle, which is very apparent by the field claims of "Horrible penetration and stopping power"; penetration of enviroments.

I'm sure within' 200m the M4 is more accurate, but I don't think it delivers any better stopping power.

This is great for breaking through kevlar and body armor, but stoping unarmored suspects becomes a task when it's basically like shooting a needle gun through them...

The round this weapon fires simply is NOT going to down a man sized target like a 9mm para would do; thus the Mag.Capacity and the Intense rate of fire (Matching the FAMAS G2 which is one of the worlds fastest firing rifles). The round does tend to tumble not with nearly as much force as a 9mm.

As it stands though, it's pointless, neither round is going to floor you. The .45 round is the round used to knock a man off of it's feet. It does a perfectly good job of this.

So. Yes. Much like the full sixed 5.56x45mm round has been proven not to down a man in one hit to the chest cavity. The scaled down little brother, the 5.7mm, isn't going to do much better. Hell, up close even a .45ACP is going to have more stopping power than a .308.

So, once again... Yes! I stand by my claim that if this round is implemented with the prospect of reality. It would do around 15% damage, yet it would completely ignore body armor.

Watch the video above. You'll see that the 5.7mm round doesn't overpenetrate much. It also directly compares the 5.7 to the 9mm and boasts a pretty good argument against it.

Marketing is a wonderfull thing isn't it?

Yet. Logic and rangetime can and have refuted fancy marketing in the past, much like now. Granted, I don't have "Personall" time with a 5.7mm round. Yet, I do have time with both the 9mm JHP and a 5.56x45.

The 5.7mm is a self proclaimed "scaled down version of the 5.56mm". Sure, it does not over penetrate, but neither does military grade 5.56. It tumbles with what I would assume to be either an equal grain round, or a heavier. Yet it also doesn't stack up well in close range wounding capacity like the 9mm JHP, or the FMJ for that matter. You cannot send a lighter round through a "soft" target at faster rates and expect it to form the "rapidly expanding" projectile needed to inflict massive wound cavities.

Using that logic in head. It would be scientifically impossible for the 5.7mm round to be a better close range performer on "Unarmored" targets. Yet, I don't think that's what FN Herstel is trying to argue. They are claiming it has better wounding abilities when compared to the 9mm in "Military Application". Thus, when your opponet would have body armor. The 9mm in both FMJ, and JHP are darn near completely useless against modern body armor. Sure, there are loads than can make it through a vest, but they are never going to do it as well as a "Rifle" class ammunition would. The 5.7mm would fit that bill.

So. Like I said before, the 5.7mm would do about 15% damage vs. all opponets. Regardless of armor. I'm standing by my claim, if you want to talk to me about it further, send me a PM.

I am not talking about those weapons in real life. I am talking about the game's SMG and assault rifles. In real life a pistol is leathal... now compare that to a bf2 pistol that needs two headshots to kill.

true about the pistol.... yes the guns suck in this game. but! because all of them suck it brings the fun up. the p90 looks cool and will be cool if its a half of what i imagine it as. and. the pistols are fun and cool in this game.

So like I said. Now for the, what, third time?

I think the P90 with do about 15 damage. Yet, it will completely ignore body armor. That's my predicition in terms of the game.

The only reason I included realistic data was to provide a backbone for my opinion. Therefore, you folks wouldn't think I was just another random individual spouting off. I actually have a basis for my assumption/prediction, and I just wanted to share that with everyone.

Thus the point of a forum? Hope ya' enjoyed what I brought to the table?

In the video it showed the rounds penetrating a car's windscreen, which any rifle round can do with ease. Amoured/bulletproof glass, no.

Yes, the penetration factor of the P90's ammunition is fantastic. Not doubting that. I'm just doubting its stopping power in regards to rounds that were "Designed" specifically to stop a man.

                            (Heavy load 9mm, .45ACP, .50BMG, .338, .308, .408)

You just cannot design a AP round in the .22 load area (Usually 55-70gr.), and expect it to perform like a rapidly expanding JHP/FMJ (100-125gr).

If it penetration isn't a problem and it has a high ROF and doesn't have alot of recoil like the video said, then taking out an enemy that is aiming a gun at you and shooting shouldn't be a prob which is important. Self Defence is the most important thing and from what I gathered, it does the job well.
