Hopefully it will be one shot kill, like CS. I really don't see any other reason to release this weapon as the sniper class already has many effective sniper rifles.

So much M95 complaining. Two things: Body armor penetration, silenced pistol. I'm sure you can figure out what I mean.

I have a feeling the L96 is gonna be another wasted unlock like the SCAR, there's hardly a need for ANOTHER bolt-action.

I don't know how the AWP will be different from the others but I think it would've been cooler if they gave us a silenced sniper rifle instead. Obviousy it would have less damage and less range but it would be silenced and possibly have a higher rate of fire. That would be fun.

Seriously........silenced? I would take one that sounded like a cannon and was a 1 shot kill (before I get flammed I DON'T WANT A 1 SHOT KILL RIFLE!!!) over a crappy silenced sniper rifle. When was the last time you got hit by a sniper and found them because you heard them shoot? At 100+m no victim is hearing you shoot. MAYBe the people around you here, but a good sniper isn't sitting behind enemy lines 10feet from an enemy and shooting people.

Seriously, all the time. I don't know what sound card you have but I can hear a sniper firing from pretty far away, especially if they are using the M95 (boomstick). There are plenty of times sniper is hiding in a urban or a wooded area, picking off targets in the distance, doesn't know that I'm nearby tracking them down with every shot they fire. I could see a silenced rifle being very effective. Sometimes the only reason I know there is a sniper shooting me is from the sound.

IIRC the AWP in real life is supposed to represent "Arctic Warfare Magnum."

And please, CS is FULL of these madeup names. IE: M4 "Maverick," "NightHawk" for Deagle!?

a clone of the Chinese/Arab sniper rifle with a silencer would make the sniper class amazing fun to play - can you imagine how sneaky you could be on Songuha Stalemate? awesome. would suck on kharkand though, which is where 90% of games are played so no-one would like it.

would be a lot of fun IMO, it would turn sniper into an infiltrating/stealth class, much like snipers do in real life. with the advances in terrain this would be the first online game to do it really well I think.

The best part is that his moniker is GSG9xSNIPER. I think whatever Desert Combat did is rather besides the point because it's a different game, and the weapons don't and aren't supposed to work the same.
