Re: Apparently BF2 fans for PC are not loyal.
Sounds like marketing talk. The reason they get the free stuff is because they subscribe to Xbox live which gives EA kickbacks for the subscriptions. We don't have to pay a monthly fee to play.Originally posted by MetasynapticBut Xbox battlefield fans are. Check out the pricing on this little beauty.

yeah, strange how the SAS in warlord have black wetsuits on a desert background....
desert skins would be nice.
about the ea bashing though
seriously guys, EA WAS NOT GOING TO BREAK YOUR KNEECAPS IF YOU DIDNT BUY BF2!
if you really hate EA so much, then stop crying about it and STOP BUYING BF2 and its expansions! the message will come in loud and clear!
this hate mongering wont achieve anything, as EA has a 25 percent share of the 12 billion dollar game industry and sure isnt going anywhere soon, so get used to it.Comment

I am merely suggesting that you need not worry what is holding your patch back an extra 2 weeks anymore :)
something that they are giving away on another platform, that you'll be unlikely to ever use is distracting at least part of their labour force.Comment

Even if every single DICE employee was working on the patch it wouldn't come out any faster. "Too many chefs, ruin the stew" applies to software development too.Originally posted by Metasynapticsomething that they are giving away on another platform, that you'll be unlikely to ever use is distracting at least part of their labour force.

Re: Apparently BF2 fans for PC are not loyal.
One thing everyone has to realize is that maybe perhaps the xbox version has new stuff, better graphics, or whatever....the thing that you have to realize is this, bf2 for the PC came out in June of 2005. The xbox 360 version is just coming out!...so lets see...if I am not mistaken...how many months is that? It's a completely different game, but for all those that want to give up free online play, and a mouse and keyboard, by all means go for it. Not trying to be a jerk by saying that, but if people think it is so much more impressive than the pc version, then buy it and play it instead.Comment

Digital Illusions cancels licensed game
2006-02-02
In the middle of October 2005 Digital Illusions signed an agreement to license the rights to Electronic Arts' studio in the UK to develop the Xbox and Playstation 2 versions of its untitled game with release in 2006/ 2007. Due to falling sales for games to both consoles EA and Digital Illusions have decided to cancel the development of the product for these two platforms.
Sales for PS2 and Xbox games has fallen during 2005 compared to 2004, mostly due to the hardware manufacturers’ new consoles being launched at the end of 2005 and during 2006.
Digital Illusions’ game Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox and PS2 has sold approximately 1 million copies to retailers until December 31 2005.
- Sell-in of Battlefield 2 Modern Combat to stores went according to plan, but the game hasn’t sold through like we had hoped for, said Patrick Söderlund, CEO at Digital Illusions.
Battlefield 2 Modern Combat has to sell-in in more than 4 million copies to retailers before Digital Illusions gets any royalty. The high royalty barrier is due to the big development budget and the shared development between the Company and EA.
- Because of the high royalty barrier we haven’t calculated with any considerable revenues from Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, besides what we already received for the actual development. This means the financial variables for the Company is not affected to any major extent, said Patrick Söderlund, CEO at Digital Illusions.
In the middle of October 2005 Digital Illusions signed an agreement to license the rights to Electronic Arts' studio in the UK to develop the Playstation Portable, Xbox and PS2 versions of its untitled game with release in 2006/ 2007. Due to falling sales for games to Xbox and PS2 EA and Digital Illusions have decided to cancel the development of the product for Xbox and PS2.
The Playstation Portable version of the game will continue to be developed by EA UK and the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions by Digital Illusions’ Stockholm studio. The launch of the untitled game is now set to 2007.
Digital Illusions’ expansion pack Battlefield 2 Special Forces was launched in late November 2005. It was the Company’s first product sold directly via EA’s homepage to end-consumers, as well as through retailers. Until December 31 2005 approximately 50.000 copies pf the product were sold online.

Actually they have the suits b/c thats more like an island or something like that, if u look to the left on the map when u die, ull see water, so it makes sense that they came by sea, and also when u parachute into the level, ur coming from like a chopper or something but ur dropping from somewhere, so thats why they have those suits, they came by sea, or else why would they add that to the map.
But anyways, if u really like the new graphics, the new and free things on the BF2 for Xbox360, then hell, go buy a 360, get the game, pay for online play, and ull be set
, while the rest of use have to pay a mesily 10 bucks and another 10 for the other booster, only once for the new stuff, and 30 if u want the SF. But u know, paying monthly or yearly for "FREE STUFF" is not bad
, and another 400 or 300 for ur Xbox360, which has crappy games, i bid u guys leaving to the 360's "NEW and FREE!(features only)" BF2 good luck, and we wont miss u, more room for us on our free servers, and with our cool mods, and keyboard, also our sweet mouse, and maby a joystick
. BF2 is ment for a PC and should stay for the PC, i played the BF2 for the Xbox, and it sux, the game play is different and it just plainly sux. Dont expect much from it either.
