Unfortunately, you would be wrong, and need to read these forums more thorough. At least some interview info threads, something. It was blatanty put that the 2 new weapons would be released with the PATCH, you may have misunderstood i suppose. Yes the weapons will be chosable on the Euro Force expansion, but WILL be released with 1.2.

I emailed EA Games about the issue. Whoever unlocked real kits, not the blank ones, will be able to rechoose when EURO comes out. Here is what they said.

The weapon unlocks will be available again when Euro Force is released. The weapon unlocks you have seen will delete themselves regardless of what you pick. They will be accessible when you play the first time logged in but when you login again you will notice they have disappeared. When the Euro Forces comes out you will receive the same two unlocks again to choose the new guns. I'm sorry again please disregard my last response. Final note is that you will get your weapon unlocks again when the next patch is out for the booster packs. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to email us back.

If that is true that is pretty stupid. I like the fact that the idiots that jumped onto the unlocks like fly on **** will miss out on the new weapons, thus not having a billion people with the new guns basically making them have no use.

So, I can see how some of you people have these skills and wisdom. I see how you have used them to wisely deal with the unlocks. Not! I really fail to see how its EA's problem that you mindlessly wandered in sat down to your computer, started BF2 and used up your unlocks. Not knowing or appearently careing what was going on. Almost sounds like an episode of Bevis and Butthead doesnt it. Maybe things will work out maybe not all I know is I now have 4 unlocks Im saving (I had been saving 2 for about 8 weeks now anyway). So which ever way it goes Im set, How 'bout you. . . . . . . .Red

Just in case you were thinking my conversation was a fake, i posted the whole thing here. It took me 3 days worth of emailing with the stupid EA Support system they have for him to finaly come up with that answer. Here are all the previous emails we had, starting with the first:

I logged into BF2 yesterday, and when i did so, i got 2 unlocks for what i thought was no reason. Naturally i unlocked 2 kits, but today i was reading on totalbf2.com forums, and they said that that was a glitch for Gamespy or something like that, and that those 2 unlocks are supposed to be for the BF2: Euro. Well because nobody knew or was told, I and i am sure a lot of other people went ahead and unlocked them, but we are now worried that when we get EURO we will not have new unlocks from the booster pack available to us like everyone else will. Normally, these unlocks don’t cause conflicts with the game because they do not contain harmful components; they are just rewards and other items that you acquire for the game. Command has identified that some soldiers out there have been seeing a blank unlock screen and are worried that since they chose an unlock, but cannot see the unlock that something is wrong. Well soldier there’s nothing to worry about; your firepower will be waiting! Read on for further information which is vital to your combat effectiveness.

Short explanation:
At some point in the next couple of weeks, you will see an empty in-game window pop-up, just like you received an award. This is just GameSpy detecting now that when the patch comes out you will get another weapon unlock. You should only ever see it once or twice, depending on how high your rank and how many unlocks you’ll have coming. Once the patch is out, your weapon unlock will be available in the BFHQ tab and you can make your choice.

Long Explanation:
The next patch is going to give many players another weapon unlock at their current rank. In order to get the best testing results we are having GameSpy configure up the weapon unlocks now on their end. This allows us to test them in a true environment, which is rather effective. The side effect of this is that when this is first in place you are likely to see an empty placeholder message. It will look just like you received an award and will appear once for each unlock you’ve earned. This message would be telling you that you have received another weapon unlock, but we haven't patched the weapons in yet. So you will see this placeholder message which is harmless. When the patch is in place though, the stats system will think you already got your notification in-game. So you will want to hit the BFHQ tab and unlock your free weapon.

Command hopes that this testing will improve the way our soldiers get their weapons, and we can make sure that supply chains are in place to get you that fire power quickly. So as a reminder, don’t worry about those unlocks, they will be there when the next patch is released.

Well i didnt choose the blank unlock. There was a blank one to choose, but there was also 3 other ones that i didnt have unlocked yet, so i unlocked 2 of them. I can use them in game, there not blank. Will i be screwed when the EURO Forces comes out? I want my 2 unlocks back.

Thank you for contacting EA Game Support.

Unfortunately, we are not able to reset kit unlocks. It is the nature of expansion packs and patches to introduce new content or features and we all wish we could “go back” and make decisions over again based on this new content. However, if we did that the things we worked so hard to achieve wouldn’t mean as much. So I’m afraid that once a kit has been unlocked it cannot be "undone". Pick your un-locks wisely and remember there is always the next rank!

I DO NOT THINK YOU GET IT. I was not supposed to get the unlocks, those are the unlocks you guys or gamespy screwed up on, that should not make it so i do not get to the choose unlocks from the new game because of this. I did not rank up or anything, i simply logged in, had 2 unlocks for no reason, and i choose two. I can use them in game, there not invisible. Now i am reading places that are saying those unlocks were supposed to be for euro forces, and because they came out early im not going to be able to select from the new guns.

I hope the new patch won't kack up my screen every time I get concussion, like the last patch did.

It made the game so badly unplayable I got the patch before.
