Re: EA have REALLY done it this time.....

if your game does work after the install and with minor isues, I must say it's probaly your pc who was poluted, and a fresh install was recomended , not only for games but for everything .

Now, as we all know, BF2 has some isues in the code , and gives pc's a hard time, but when you encounter the fact lots of games aren't working, it is your pc who is the problem, don't blame EA, they are just the pulisher, all there games are made by diffirent studio's .

Do check on regular base for spyware and stuff, those mess up a lot more then you think and take a lot of your pc's power(some cpu usage, some swap file, some ram)

Computer not booting etc, mate you had problems way before you installed BF2, theres nothing BF2 does that could possible make your computer behave like that.

As always it sounds like either user error or in this case probably more likely that its a badly maintained machine.

Although I did read an article on HardOCP which concerned dell and their gaming machines, people buying pre-built machines get so much bloatware that it actually stops most new games installing properly.

But then if youre buying prebuilt PC from dell you're asking for it

The answer is obvious - your Dad doesn't download porn, whereas you have several hundred Gigabites of stuff titled "oily titty girl lesbo pee fest."

Please don't blame EA for your not being able to maintain your system.

If your dad has the same computer why didn't you just pull out your harddrive hook it up to your dad's and transfer all your files (taken into the account your both have NTFS file system), or norton ghost an image of your dad's partition then copy it over to the other harddrive take 10-20 mins tops and you don't have to reinstall everything.

Don't tell me you don't own a copy of norton ghost, you have the internet if you know what i mean .

Just a suggestion for the next time this happens.

Battlefield 2 however, is different. You see Battlefield 2, ive never got working (on this PC)....(it works on my dads identicle PC...but not mine).....I cant install it...when i do....it may aswell be saying "oooh youve got past my error and you seemed to like it, here, have another" kind of attitude. Its sooo bad infact, i can barely Start up my PC, when I can it reboots and locks nd the list goes on. I have therefore been forced to re-format my hard drive (for any people who dont know what that means it means i have to un-install EVERYTHING (including windows itself) and spend weeks re-installing everything.

I have therefore come to the conclusion that Whilst EA do make the best games around when you get them working.....theres only a slim chance, you will ever get to "challenge everything" lol

Sounds like a comedy sketch with a tag-line lol
            EA doesnt give support..

the person you were talking to on the phone was a script reader..
tonsiling out the hogwash EA tells them to say..

EA does not support titles without MADDEN in them.. and they sure as
hell dont support DICE and their cow manure BF2..

EA didn't develop BF2, it published it.

              DICE developed BF2.

As well, EA generally publishes games, not develops them, although they do make a few.
For further clarification, this would have been somewhat relevant more than a year ago but about that time EA bought 60+% of DICE. Anything DICE does is EA's responsibility. Even before that, it is usually the publisher who has control of their relationship, not the developer. Publishers frequently force developers to release products before they are ready.

Re: EA have REALLY done it this time.....

Don't blame EA just because the game doesn't work, if it works at your Dad's with the same comp then it's your comp...maybe something you downloaded is causing the prob or maybe you altered a file the possibilities are endless. Why this happens for only EA games for you I don't know, but like you said EA's motto is 'Challenge Everything' and they do. They put alot of effort into their games to make them one of the best game developers. Look at the game 'Black' coming out soon, it's a clear example of them challenging everything the game pushes the current-gen consoles to their limits. What I'm saying for a game like bf2 which EA/DICE went above and beyond with, the possibility of there being bugs and problems in the game with things like coding was inevitable. So yes there are alot of bugs and problems with the game but it's not EA's fault the game does not work on your comp.

Re: EA have REALLY done it this time.....

I play BF2 on a cheap Compac computer with a aftermarket video card not on EA's list and also on my Dell laptop with 64M video RAM. I haven't reformatted or done anything extreme to either machine and the laptop I use everyday in my work and it has lots of specialty software on it. So don't blame it on the game. Take the time to learn how to set-up your machine to run the game. Sometimes you have to make compromises in settings to make it work but if you want to play bad enough you will make them.

Start a thread in the support forum if you're having problems running the game.

No need for yet another EA rant thread.
