EA have REALLY done it this time.....

As you can probably tell i'm one of EA's mega happy customers.....or not......ive got...let me just count.....ELEVEN Games made by EA, including EA SPORTS.....of which NONE of them worked first time....i had to phone EA countless numbers of times to get them finally working. Battlefield 2 however, is different. You see Battlefield 2, ive never got working (on this PC)....(it works on my dads identicle PC...but not mine).....I cant install it...when i do....it may aswell be saying "oooh youve got past my error and you seemed to like it, here, have another" kind of attitude. Its sooo bad infact, i can barely Start up my PC, when I can it reboots and locks nd the list goes on. I have therefore been forced to re-format my hard drive (for any people who dont know what that means it means i have to un-install EVERYTHING (including windows itself) and spend weeks re-installing everything.

I have therefore come to the conclusion that Whilst EA do make the best games around when you get them working.....theres only a slim chance, you will ever get to "challenge everything" lol

Sounds like a comedy sketch with a tag-line lol

Well they're not identical if it works on your Dads but not yours

Seriously though, it's not all about hardware. You need to have the least amount of crap installed on your computer to increase the chances of smoothly working games. More programs/utilities/gadgets = more chance of things crashing. I'm assuming that your Dad only has office and email program and a few other essentials.

Formatting is a blessing in disguise IMO. It's like you get a new PC.

But now you have the game actually working, you'll see the REAL bugs . The gameplay design bugs. The ones they still haven't fixed 7 months into the games life.

So... just curious. Why would you have 100+ posts in a BF2 forum if you never ever got the game to work?

          Thou shall not whine.... anymore.

You ned to either reformat your PC, or get a new one. This is not EAs fault.

I actually have multiple friends at school who have experienced this exact same problem. It would be interresting to see what BF2 is incompatable with and how to fix it. They all had different symptoms (one kept losing his CD key every time the computer restarted) but a reformat fixed it.

It really is more likely to be your machine than anything EA have done. They might be a huge corporate publisher, but they wouldn't stay that way for long if they kept churning out games that don't work. BF2 Might not be the most stable of games (It does seem to have more than it's fair share of glitches) but 9 times out of ten it will be some conflict or other that it has with your warez or cheap messenger or other junk you have filled up your harddrive with.

AS with many things in life, keep it clean, keep it mean. (Or something). Clean your system, don't surf for pron, don't install everything under the sun, it mess's with your registry and screws with your HD. Keep a partition handy for games, give it loads of room to manouver and make sure your startup isn't full of useless junk that you have only ever used once.

If it works on your dads IDENTICAL platform then it ain't BF2. Its what you have done to your machine.

I ain't no huge fan of large production houses, it's like the hollywood of games, a few giants making endless mindless drivvle, but BF2 is actually quite good for a change. And anyway, if you don't like EA, why on earth have you gone back 12 times to buy more . . . .Talking about feeding the hand that bites yer . . .

It takes you weeks to reinstall Windows and your programs? I think I see the problem here.

Re: EA have REALLY done it this time.....

                        Just for clarification..

EA didn't develop BF2, it published it.

                        DICE developed BF2.

As well, EA generally publishes games, not develops them, although they do make a few.

You should consider a better backup scheme especially one where you ghost your drive and simply restore.

Garabaldi, where do you think DICE gets its money from???

                            Answer: E.A.

When EA says "jump", what does DICE say?

                            Answer: How high?

Maybe getting rid of your sh*tty computer and getting a new one will help your errors dissappear...And if it is your pc you know of that cause it,than its no fricking wonder that the next ea game goes beserk on your pc everytime...
