    Re: Co-pilot heavily underestimated

I try to use my co-pilot during the few times I ever get in a bomber. I flew a Su-34 on Oman yesterday and got my co-pilot to destroy 4 tanks/APCs with laser-guided missiles before I was noobishly shot down. >_> I need more practice in planes (like real online practice, not single-player "I know the controls" practice), problem being they're the most coveted team assets.

Same here, the copilot can actually get more kills then the pilot, what is actually bad for the pilot because the copilot can 'steal' his kills.

I hear ya, I hate it when I have a great co-pilot that knows how to use the laser guided missile, I can set him up for everything and not drop a single bomb the whole round, but I hate it when I have no fighter jet support and I am too busy dodging a fighter pilot for the whole round. I am really good a evading.
What I love to do, and droll over is when I see like 2 tanks and 2 APC or just a lot of armor all huddled around a flag trying to capture it, cause everyone down there once that capture assist points, I line my co-pilot up, he fires off his missiles, kills the 2 tanks, then I drop my bombs to finish the job. Great bombing run.

I agree. The co-pilot for any vehicle is crucial for a good fun game. The only thing that sucks about being a co-pilot, or even the pilot, is having a F-35b on your ass and trying to shake him, it makes the co-pilot want to get sick.

As for the helis, I normally never try and get kills. The only times I try are when I have an idiot gunner who can't, for some reason, see any of the troops/tanks I line him up for. Lining up your enemy is tricky because you're incredibly vulnerable for AT, tank shells, etc. The quicker the better.

Just in case your talking about me... I know exactly how to position myself.
I wont deny that your argument has a lot of reality to it... however, Its impressive when people insist on chaingunning a tank...

hell yes it is, one lgm can take out two arty. my gunners rain hell upon the battlefield.

                  pilot tips:
-never fly slow unless a) you are trying to somehow lose the enemy jet on your tail. b) you are shooting down a helicopter with your cannon. otherwise there is no need to fly slow, and unless the enemy is retarded, they will shoot you down in no time if you fly slow. if a bomber crew has a problem with target aquasition at full speed, there is something wrong. the pilot shouldnt just turn in on any target they see, once they spot a target, they should fly away, then turn on it, they should fly towards a target before its even apeared, which gives plenty of time for the gunner.

                  gunner tips:
-keep your site forward to intercept enemy bombing targets.
-communication is key, tell your pilot when you are reloading, tell them if someone is on your six/if you lose them.

                  bomber weapon tips:
-use the cannon for soft targets (targets can be classified based on speed, jeeps are fastest). use the lgm as the primary anti armor. use the full bomb load on a group of enemy, otherwise just drop one when the lgm is reloading or when bombing with a bogey on your six. its important that communication within the cockpit is solid, the less weapons that are waisted, the longer the enemy can be devestated, before going back to rearm.

while a f35 can make swift work of a bomber, the bomber pilot can also easily evade the f35 due to superior slow down speed.

right on the money, except whenever the gunner isnt using tvguide or the pilot isnt using rockets, the helicopter should always be moving, especially when enemy tropps are on the ground. if you can get good at orbiting a cp, your golden.

lol, i do it all the time, its simply a matter of timing

go high and level out, save a flare, then pull up and reverse thrust and flare if need be. if your pilot is gulibule enough they will lose control and die out of bounds, you will fall back to earth, punch it when you hit 500 feet. the key to evading with slowing down is not letting your enemy see you slow down, so dont fly straight. this technique can also be used to get behind someone on your own tail.

Usually my pilot flies around like a lunatic until I get 1 or two kills, then they realise that lining you up is more effective.

only works for bad pilots, slowing down in bomber wont help much when it takes 2 seconds to shoot you down.

Agreed, not to mention most pilots in the JSF-35 will "tip their hand" so to speak when they slow down as the air brake is deployed and the VTOL is engaged when your thrust is reversed. (As alot of pilots are in the habit of doing.) Only experienced pilots will avoid showing you they are about to "brake" in a JSF.

Decent co-pilots are helpful for bombers and essential for attack helos. That's why I mainly stick to the fighters. Unless it's with someone I know, getting into crew aircraft is suicidal more often than not. So many gunners like to sit with their thumbs up their ass, it disgusts me.

With the fighters the only person you have to rely on is yourself, a horrably more practical way to play the game unfortunately.
