How to shake off the fighter plane behind you?

It happened to me A LOT of time. Especially when I was flying a less Manuevable jet, a bomber, and all of a sudden, a MIG-29 is behind me....I twised left/right and make a sharp turn, but those missiles could still hit me....becuase of a large turning radius.

I tried other like, flying up to 700-800ft and dive them.......not sucessful...:cry:

Thats sad, but I guess it just takes practice. Learn difficult turns and fake on way and go the other. No good pilot is just going to tell you his techniques, you have to experiment!

If your good, you can get away pretty easily, even in a bomber.

the one and only move to avoid missiles (atleast untill the patch with improved aa)- the corkscrew. use the arrow keys and lean on the down and right/left to do a spiral that throws off all missiles regardless of the direction they are coming from. afterburners recommended. to lose a jet just get creative.

put your sensitivity up, (5.0+) and practice in single player. do the same thing that the AI does. zig zag from left to right.

Here's what I do:

If there's an enemy jet on my tail, bank upwards like you're doing a loop. then when you reach the pinnacle, flip over right-side-up and then repeat the first half of the loop. You don't need to use afterburners- they actually increase the size of the arc leaving you more open to enemy missles and gunfire. After the second half-loop, look behind you to see if the bogey is still on your tail. If he is, use the rudder and make a 3rd half-loop at an angle instead of perpendicular to the ground. Look behind you a final time to be sure that you're home free.

This works for many of the pilots I've tried to evade- also works great if you don't want to deploy flares.

Note: you can throttle downwards as you arc upwards as that will also tighten your turning radius. Once the turn is complete, go back to full throttle or use afterburners. Think of it like a power-slide in a car...

My best advice is to practice maneuvers on an empty server and play with the throttle to figure out the best methods for looping.

simple - slow down. Unless you're in the US jet they have no idea you're slowing and as long as you can keep the plane in some turns now and then so they can't get a good lock they'll zoom right by you. Afterburn after them and take em down.

That or gain plenty of altitude 700m or so and because you fly faster the higher you go you can make some rediculous turns, just go crazy with your mouse and chances are they'll lose you.

well i can't find tis guide right now (it was originally written for '42) but i remember that it had a part where you can do a summersault (in n()()b terms) but instead of pulling up, you roll upside down and do it that way, so when ure done u face backwards instead of the same way you were going (throws off the opponent)

there was one guy that i couldnt loose for the sake of all humanity and he was in the top 100(not going to mention any names=-) ) but one way or another i can loose people like a fat kid with cake!.. but yeah be creative and for the love of god DONT PANIC when u freak out cuz theres someone on u your going to die! esp if its me... cuz i dont give up.. so yeah want a good dogfight or want to try some of your skills against me look me up on =NAA= Official server

Don't slow down. That's stupid, I've slammed into so many jets because the pilot thinks that slowing down while help.

To shake an enemy plane you have to swerve hard and fast, as long as he hasn’t launched rockets or you’ll go :shock: as the rockets smash into you.

Play LOMAC or Falcon 4.0 : AF for 3 months, you won't have a problem

Fly up quickly with afterburners to about 300-400ft, go level, turn upsidedown while still level and perform a half loop downwards. Usually stuffs up the jet following you.
