I guess that subject heading is a little ambiguous. I'm not talking about servers that are easy to log onto.

I have played BF1942, Desert Combat and DCX to death. I absolutely loved flying choppers in DC and DCX even though it took months to master it. I'm a little sad that the choppers in BF2 are so much easier to pilot. Anyway, I never played online, just LAN Co-op games with friends. We played a lot though and eventually knew all the little secrets and tricks, though I'm sure we developed our own style of play which influenced how we reacted in any given situation.

Now that I'm playing online with BF2, I find that I'm lost half the time (not literally, though that does happen). I don't get orders from my squad leaders or commanders nearly as often as I thought I would. I feel like I'm running around with no idea what is really going on and when I do find another person, I get killed almost instantly. Obviously there is a big difference between online play and LAN play with friends.

That being said, are there any ranked servers out there that are "new-guy" (note, I did not say newbie) friendly? Servers with good squad leaders and opponents who aren't easily frustrated or p***ed off? It would be nice to find a place to play where people are just as eager to help teach as they are to lead a good squad and command a good game. Are there any places like this?

I have found the best way to learn is to have someone to show you the ropes. Anyone out there know where a quick-study like me can get in on the action without feeling left behind?

We play a good game any time we are on, me and about three friends. If for example, you've never flown or been co-pilot, but are eager to learn, I normally let the gunner shoot the TV guided or laser guided to get the hang of it.

As for being in a squad, I'm very confident that when a player feels like joining my squad, I will do everything to help that person out. If we have 6 people in my squad however, and not one person is using a type of support kit (support, medic, eng.) then I normally switch to become a medic(fav. kit). If my team doesn't follow me to help out, I normally kick them out.

Dont use BlackWater server,,,,they are a bunch of noobs. They bunny hop, and when you kick their ass, and complain about the lagging server, they kick you for excessive team kills...LOL I played on their server tues. pm,. and had a great score, had 5 flag captures, 3 guns destroyed, shot down 1 aircraft, and had at least 15 kills, my game became really laggy, probably due to location and such.....I just asked about it and the [OM] pinheads started smarting off, but of course, being noobs, they couldnt take abuse back, so they kicked me for excessive team kills. the funny thing, I havent team killed in the last two weeks LOL
What a bunch of ****less noobs LOL

You new guys seem to have plenty of good offers for help. Whilst you will find a lot of aholes in BF2 you do come across some guys and don't forget gals that are more than willing to help out.

The offer is still open and always is for our server. The best way is to jump on our Teamspeak, get the ip from our site on the main page in the server block www.r2clan.com

Or why not take up maranello's offer to join the TotalBF2 clan and jump on their server. I'm sure that would be just as good as anywhere to start playing online and learning the game.

I have come from a BF background mainly BFV and the pace of BF2 is a lot faster and it has a steep learning curve so don't be put off by it because you are going to die 1000's of times in this game. You guys will get better with time I guarantee it.
