Bomber laser-guided missile bug???

When I fly a bomber my goal is to set up my co-pilot for the laser-guided missiles. Sometimes they've complained saying that they can't fire at all. Has anyone else had this issue before? I thought I saw somewhere that is it a bug, but I'm not sure.

I tried using the search engine, but for whatever reason could not find any threads about this even though I'm sure they're there.

Let me guess, MEC bomber?

Yes I've had that happened to me before. It'll get confused and fire in non-tv mode. Click like crazy in both views and it'll work eventually.

Problem exist on all bombers. It's a damn annoying bug as you it sometimes won't be fixed until the plane respawns again. The F-15 (haven't seen it in any of the others) has another extremly annoying bug, as soon as you press "fire" the missile lock will disappear and you'll most likely not be able to hit the target.

The laser guided misssile is extremly bugged, IMHO it's the most bugged weapon next to the AA. If you are lucky (and skilled) just about every missile will hit it's target, but way to often it'll just fly into space.

That happened to me once, I just ejected, died, and respawned into the bomber (pilot was squad leader)

I've also noticed that you can somewhat control where the missile goes, even if you do not have a "lock." This is probably common knowledge, but I thought I was the @#($ when I found this out ^__^

Rarely happens to me. I find the whole "missiles go for the closest target instead of the one I have locked" behavior 1000x more annoying.

I know I'll be off topic, but can you explain to me please, how do the plane guided missiles work. I've tried it once, but without results.

Last night flying the MEC bomber on OMAN with my favorite gunner talking on teamspeak we hit friendlies 4/5 times. I was flying extremely slow with my bombing pilot sights so I could easily identify the friend from the foe. First I see the TV missile go straight for a friendly after a lock on, WTF? we said.

I don't recall this happening to me at all when I'm the gunner. I get 100% enemy hits then.

Also if your bombs are veering off in a certain direction, it seems to help if you go to both views and look around in all directions (as if you were calibrating a joystick).

I have the same problem, where after a while usually the laser guided missle no longer wants to lock on anything. The co pilot respawns (im the squad leader) and nothing. Usually requieres the plane is crashed, and respawned for it to work.

Happened to me on the su 35, and F15. Never on the su 30 though. Probably would, but probably not enough time in it, on the 1 level its on.

It's usually a result of bad lag, and it works similarly to the AA missiles redirecting toward friendly targets. If you have a lock and there is a friendly, eligible target (or enemy target) that is CLOSER to you then the locked enemy then the missiles will usually go for the closer target.

Wow! That was exactly our situation. For instance this one time was 2 jeeps and 1 APC, when for a friendly jeep and yes I think it was a little closer. So basicaly what you're saying is that even though you have a positive lock-on to an enemy it will veer off to the closest target. Man I thought this was laser-guided not heat seeking!

This bug is really annoying when it happens. You cant hit anything , when you get a lock as soon a you fiire the lock ends and the missile goes off somewhere totally random.

Sorry.. i just have to brag. Today i shot down my first flying chopper with the LGM of the MEC bomber.

I've been lucky enough to never have that bug except in the chopper.

Laser guided? Everyone keeps saying laser guided...

The shoulder fired Anti-Tank rounds are laser guided. The Anti-Air missiles are "Radar" guided I belevie. I couldn't imagine having to keep an laser on my target; especially if that target is moving at excess of 500mph.

The missiles fired from the Bomber while supposed to be laser guided, perform more like Radar guided missles. So, I don't know what to make of that.
