    Re: About claymore teamkills

With patch 1.2, if I understood things right, Snipers will be able to remove claymores, Enginners/AT Mines, SpecForces/C4. The point is, will Snipers be able to pickup enemy Claymores ? Maybe it will work a bit like the way Engineers remove AT mines with their tool. Let's wait and see

Being able to move my Claymore/AT mine is NOT going to keep some SMACKTARD from running into it and punishing me.

It has become quite discouraging to me. I now do not place claymores to defend myself as I snipe because some idiot ALWAYS runs into it and punishes me.

And before someone starts in, I am talking about claymores on top of ladders or around me as I snipe. They are easily visable with the skull and crossbones and NOT placed in such a way as to invite a TK. Still, some idiot team member triggers it.

I broke down last night and put one at the top of a ladder on Shaqari last night and yep, some idiot trips it and pens me.

I should be able to pen HIM for taking out my defense and leaving my back exposed. I did not place another one and sure enough, I got knifed.

alot of time: maybe a little more RAM (2GIG runs fine) or lower your settings
Ranked server: the lower the ping, the faster the verifying

Yes ... getting punished because some goofball runs into a claymore is frustrating.

Because of that, I rarely use them except as traps.....

          - Pop a couple shots with your pistol at an enemy to get him to come around a corner or towards where you are. Drop the claymore around corner and hang out. Usually good for a kill. If for some reason he never makes it there, just drop a grenade on it and continue what you were doing if you are afraid it is in an area where a friendly might pass.

          - Do not drop them anywhere near a friendly flag. Big no-no.

          - Sneak into an enemy area and drop them under hummers, vodniks, etc. Usually good for a kill without a teammate wandering into them.

Something to keep in mind, claymores are not just to cover your butt. While that is one use, they can be used very effectively to take out enemies as long as you just make sure to keep them away from friendly areas. In other words, place them near the enemies while they are present. If you leave a mine sitting around for any length of time, you can be sure a teammate will wander into it.

This is also why the red box with an X appears when you are near a mine - it appears right under your radar.

I think there should be 3 different "red skulls". One for C4, one for mines and one for claymores. Why? Because you dont really give a crap about C4 most of the time. When you're on foot you don't care about mines. And claymores are not usually placed near roads or anywhere near vehicles so most of the time you dont care about it when you drive.

It happened to me few times that I drove over friendly mines thinking it's just C4. They should have different signs!!!

I don't think it's that hard. Just put a letter right abouve the skull. M for mine, C for claymore and C4 or E (explosive so it's not confuused with claymore) for C4.

                Re: About claymore teamkills

First of all, snipers act as scouts pointing out enemy targets that can be a large threat to friendlies ie APCs, Tanks...This said if you're a sniper like myself, you should be behind enemy lines away from your friendlies. This way your friendlies will be fighting on the front lines and noone except enemies (and maybe other friendly snipers) will step on your claymores. It's a problem that has been around since bf1942, bfv, and now bf2 that EA/DICE can't fix...mines,claymores,bouncing-betties are going to be detonated by smacktards on your own team. Only difference now is the new punish system. But EA can't get rid of the punish system for claymores because then the same smacktards detonating them earlier are going to be running around with them killing their own team not worrying about getting punished. So my suggestion is to stay away from your friendlies and stay near enemy bases by sneaking there...something that the other classes can't do because they ain't got camouflage.

Maybe we'll get to punish them for running over and wasting our claymore/mine

ever since the new patch I purposely run over claymores and mines when team mine damage is on; with the abuse of them lately I dont see why snipers should even have them.. they've lost their purpose. I've played over 100 hours sniping and yeah they've saved me plenty of times in cover but honestly if you aren't paying attention you deserve to die.

So you like to make other people lose points by running over their mines/claymores? You're what's wrong with Battlefield 2.

It can be. When artillery and assets get destroyed they show up in clusters of yellow, and combined with the flags, they REALLY get in the way if you happen to be looking in certain directions. They should just leave the friendly mine indicator on regardless of minimap status. Or allow people to customize what icons show up on the minimap. Or change the transparency.

reminds of Jim Carey in Ace Ventura when he talks out of his ass.
