Typing renderer.drawfps 1 did nothing in the "~" command screen. It accepted it, but no FPS showed up.

in the top left corner of your screen, dark red small numbers will appear. "renderer.drawfps 1"

I get some serious slowdown when i'm indoors, i.e. inside the Warlord palace but when I'm outdoors everything is nice and smooth. Everything is updated (drivers, patches) so I'm hoping that when the 1.2 patch arrives it will fix it. My specs are:

          XP 3000+ (@ 2.5 gig)
          2 gig OCZ platinum
          2 x 7800gt

Does anyone else experience an indoor lag issue?

          Thanks,

          weasel

Yes, and this is the main reason I don't play SF maps at all

I'm hoping that some of the optimizations coming in v1.2 will address this.

Until then, vanilla maps only for me. Shame, really.

Re: LAG on Ghost town and Warlord

OK, on a playable map I get 20 to 40 Frames per second, on a very laggy or slow map, I get 15 to 50 FPS. Not making sense. I have found that even now some of the original maps cause the same problem. I am in slide show hell! There are no non-essential programs running in the background, and my ping is about 43, average. Like I stated in the beginning, I have re-formatted, so the system is clean. HELP!!!

well if you consider 20-40 good, and 15 - 50 notgood, I dont get it. If you get 20 -40 on "good" framerate maps and 15- 50 on nosogood maps, theres almost no difference. You have 5 fps lower on the minumum and 10 FPS higher on the max. judging by your specs, you should probably be getting more fps than that, but that is an overall problem. Maybe your temps are too hot, I dont know it seems like it should be fine your dxdiag showed you had all the current drivers. what temps does your GPU reach? also: MORE RAM WOULD ALMOST POSITIVLY DO THE TRICK!

I'm guessing that the FPS doesn't matter or don't seem to be the problem, since the difference is so small, but still low. Not sure about the CPU temp's, how do I check? As for the RAM, I was playing with 512 before the 1.12 patch and it ran fine. I upgraded to 1 gig, but was not having any problems with the 512.

Re: LAG on Ghost town and Warlord

I have an Antec case with 4 fans running. Yes, it sounds like an F-16 in my left ear. I opened the case and let it run for a while. I also deleted the files as suggested by Redrider in this post...

I have been able to play the game and my FPS have jumped from 15- 30 to 30-60. It seems to be a fix for now. I suggest that anyone having this problem should read that post. Thanks again for all of the help. I hope that the next patch will resolve these issues.
