LAG on Ghost town and Warlord

I am getting lag ( not connection related ) on these two maps. It is the same in SP or MP. I have re-formatted my harddrive but it did not help. Any solutions? Dxdiag...

Well, the upcoming patch will hopefully fix this (or minimize it at least) with its mesh optimization code.

I do know that at least for me, once I upgraded from 1 GB to 2 GB of RAM, the lag went away completely.

i agree with you talus, redeared is a moron who has never helped in my experience.

worse, he just screws people up with his post.

for some people the 1.12 patch really hit hard, for most it just slightly to moderately reduces performance, like me.

Shark, what settings are you running at?
I mean, your ram (1GB) is good, but it is true that another gig would boost performance. And your CPU, at 2.53 pentium 4 is not THE BEST, it should only give a slight overall FPS drop.

Explain what happens. Is every second from the start to end of the round like 1fps? What framrates do you get and if this is not the case, when and where do you get drops in FPS?

I'm sorry, but you really shouldn't be posting in the support forums.

                You're really not helping anybody.

                You've already been warned.

I upgraded my system just hours ago and since then I am experiencing extreme lag on those 2 maps as well. 1 Gig -> 1.5 Gig, 2500+ -> 2800+ processor. Before that the game ran just fine so I am suspecting there is something more going on here. I'm experimenting with various settings and reading into this problem as well. If I want out what's causing this I will ofcourse post it here. In the mean time if anybody has any suggestions as to what to try, please post it here as well. This really s*cks so please post info or I won't be getting much sleep tonight

                  Marcus.

I get a great amount of lag at the very beginning of the maps. I would wait after the map loaded, hoping that it was a load issue, but the problem was still there. As the maps played on, the hesitation seemed to be less frequent, but still there. It seemed to be worse when I was near the "action" (of course ). As stated before, I have the same problem even in Single Player, even after a re-format. During game play, the hesitation seems to get worse when near a cap point or in the middle of a fire fight.

Re: LAG on Ghost town and Warlord

so, you can play any other map, at the same size, with the same programs running the background, at just fine FPS. But those two maps you get HORRIBLE fps?

do this for me first: hit "~" and type "renderer.drawfps 1"
play around on 'working' maps for a little bit and record the lowest, highest and average FPS you see. this FPS is the first number on the left of the "/".
then play on ghost town and warlord at the same size map and do the same thing and report back with the results.

note: when you type "renderer.drawfps 1" two numbers will show up in the corner of the screen split by a "/". the FIRST number is the FPS. only look at that one.
