i am having a similar problem & have a 9800 pro . game skips so bad it is unplayable. i do a system restore and game works fine , but after the 3rd map loads on a server it will start to skip again ???????????????????????? anyone have a clue what is happing

it seems to be happenning to a lot of people today including me.
i run a radeon 9600xt and it has worked fine before today.
i hope this gets fixed soon

Yes this is PUNKBUSTERS fault.

To get reasonable FPS again. Type this in console

pb_sleep 500

I went from CHUGGISH 30 frames back to my 100ish frames. It still skips a tiny bit every 5 seconds, but much more playable than before.

Everyone still having these problems? I am.. The pb_sleep 500 made it a little better, but still unplayable I think, especially when flying.

I am so ****ed I have the same problem , updated all drivers and chipset. Still have terrible skipping then 5 seconds later, it freezes the screen turns blue and I have a high pitched noise. I wrote a trouble ticket to punk buster, if your haveing the same problem please write a ticket also.

so this is definitely skipping i get, not low frames per second.

funny, it only happens at the start of a game, about 30 seconds in it starts to skip for maybe a minute or two, after and before its smooth and fine.

For me it's from the moment i press join game. Even the select weapon and spawn menu skips onto the screen.

same with me i got a pretty good setup but when i run the gun is jerking up and down and when look left ot right the gun moves in the opposite direction about an inch and its a basturd to play

yes, it only happens on the start of the game me too for a couple of minutes. any of you tried to play BF2:SF with that bug? sometimes when i press the button to aim my screen become black. then if i press escape to go in the menu the game crashes

i have 9800 pro its doing it to me too, thought i had a virus or lots of c**p loaded in the back ground. So want to play the game too. Do you think it will be fixed soon?
