I agree that it probably is punkbuster...they released an update today at 1pm.

uh oh, i have a 6600 GT and skipping at the start of a game just happened randomly after no changes for a very long time......

I started having this same problem today. I have been playing for over a month with no issues.

Geforce FX 5500 ... i know very old card but on low settings i can play =)

oh my god....it just started happening to me!?! wtf??!! Never had any problems playing online, ran smooth as butter at the settings I had selected. Im playing today, everything running fine, and then all of a sudden i get uncontrollable hitching and lag!?

Tried several different servers and vid card settings and nothing helped. Runs fine in single player and no other game is affected. Wtf is going on!?

updated punk buster but it didnt make **** all difference. Specs are as follows

p4 3.2@3.5
1 gig DDR 400
6800GT

This is really starting to **** me off!
