There is (even by your own admission) not a mod on the server.
All we want is to provide a server that people can enjoy a bit of fun.
Promoting our server is just part of that.
Hopefully, when we stop doing the sniper nights (probably within a week), people will realise that the server is pretty decent and we're decent people and not lame kids who just want to swear and abuse their admin rights, then they'll come back for some of the normal games.
There is no stat padding going on (Since you don't get medals or awards for killing a sniper).
There is nothing against the rules here. All we ask is people join the server, stay away from non sniper pieces of kit and enjoy themselves.
So far this is mainly what goes on, and we're having a laugh at the same time. Isn't that what it's all about?
Actually, this is the same as saying "Pistol/Knife Only". Except with this, you could use any kit, just not the main weapon from the kit.
Your telling all the members they MUST use the Sniper Kit. This my friend IS against the rules - And you do get awards for killing somebody with the Sniper kit.
Putting ANY restrictions on a ranked server = Illegal. Face the facts.

BTW, if the answer is no and your server is ranked, you are in violation of the ranked server agreement. It states, in no uncertain terms, that you are not allowed to enforce rules that prohibit use of kits and/or weapons/equipment. If ya wanna do that, you need to unrank the server.

I'm playing there right now, and if ya'll don't get an admin in there to start kicking, this **** will continue to NOT WORK.
EDIT: I was too busy running away from spawn raping tanks and APCs to do any sniping, let me know when ya'll start enforceing your rules
As has been stated repeatedly, if an admin comes in and starts kicking people for their weapons/kit choices the server could be shut down via the rules of running a ranked server.
This is not hard to understand.
If ya wanna play "snipers only", unrank the server. Then ya can enforce any rule ya like. Better still, find/make a mini-mod. Then you don't have to enforce anything.
If it's about the fun of playing sniper, why would it being a ranked server matter?
OK, OK. Turns out that enforcing certain rules is against the EA global rules.
That's cleared that up I guess.
Point is, we NEVER kicked or banned anyone for not using snipers. In fact, it was mostly players on the server who were shouting to not use the tanks etc. etc.
*Snipers only* was just a suggestion and we never enforced it (for those who don't understand, look up the definition for the word enforce).
Thanks to the whining b*ggers, we're now removing even the mere suggestion of snipers only. Shame really.
Anyway, the server is still fast, and we're still fun. No reason why you can't have a normal game eh?
I'm not a whining. Just trying to give you the heads up. If EA caught on, not only would your server be toast, but so would any players who were caught playing on the server.
We went through this ordeal with the 9MM Pistol/Knife only server. Sorry to say,, a good server, and good players were banned/stat swiped.

It has nothing to do with "whinning buggers". It has everything to do with the contract you signed when you decided to run a ranked server. Getting snarky about it is just stupid. You knew (your should have known) the rules.
That said, as I suggested, you can run the server in an unranked mode and do whatever the hell you want with it. If it's all for fun, why should the points matter?
Noone who posted in this thread is an authority with EA servers or BF2RS, so leave them alone. If they get caught by an OFFICIAL person then fine, otherwise its nobody's business.
