    An idea to encourage teamworks

I have an idea to encourage players to work together:

    Add the rules below:
    - Players who are squad members at the winning team get double/extra points.
    - Players can't not switch teams if there are less than 100 tickets left.
    - All squad will be locked if there are less than 100 tickets left.

This way, people would care about winning the battle and more willing to work together. To have my points double at the end round is more rewarding than getting kills and earn points by myself. And people can't just switch to the winning team at the end of round just to get their points double. Players who just join a squad but not work together with the squad can be kicked out of the squad by the squad leader.

I am sure the idea will not make BF2 a perfect world, but I think my theory would at least increase players interest to join teams and work together.

    What do you think? :)

By the way, I am also curious what kind of reasons would people not want to work together as team?

There are few reasons I can think of:

    - Snipers want to be slone, so they won't be spotted.
    - New players who are not familiar with squad systems.

Other than above reasons, I don't understand why would people not want to work together, which can provide better chance for survival.

Best way to encourage teamworks is simply rewarding the winning team with 2x points just like the commander. Players who dont care about the teamwork also dont care about who wins the round. They only try to get more kills, less death and look only at their personal points gained at the end of the round.

That's silly. I don't care about teamwork but I do care about winning (even without 2x being on the line.) I just believe that teamwork is meaningless and that your team wins or losses based on how many good players it has. You don't need teamwork when you've several people killing 50 tickets.

The players you describe as not caring are the real reason you win or lose.

you don't need teamwork when I can go in and kill everyone in your squad with my PKM.

              This is what I've noticed:

Play on ranked servers, it's all about themselves (for the most part)

Play on unranked servers, people tend to play together more often.

              PEACE

I don't quite understand what you meant by "good" players, do you mean players skill? How fast and accurate they aim?

I think one skillful player can't beat a team of 6 rookies. The huge difference between BF2 and Couter-Strike is that you have less chance to encounter players face to face and one on one. Which means how good a player's reflex or skill in BF2 would not matter as much.

So players who don't join a squad can't join at the last minute to get double/extra points.

I think my idea can only make the game better, not worse, becasue you can still go lone-wolf as you wish, you just don't get extra points, that's all. Well, there is one down side I can think of, new comers might rank up faster which makes old players bitter.

                    oh ok...

but that stops the efficient squad switching, which is also a part of teamwork.

Hmm... good point. But I think it won't hurt too much...

                        Wrong.

I've seen skilled players (in one instance a medic, in another a specop) slaughter half the enemy team (10 guys), that was trying to capture a flag, first unloading their rifle into the guys, then the pistol, finally knifing everything into the ground that was still twitching.

Well, the best way, I think, is to play with a group of people you know. That's what I do, and we have excellent teamwork skills.

How often does that happen? I guess not often, I guess you have only seen that happened once. I still believe in general, one experienced player can't beat a team of rookies.
