IMO as long as you dont kill yourself while using it then its not a noob tube.

why does everyone cry about it,
After the patch ppl will complain the tube can bounce of walls and anti tank kit is being over used now.

      So sad.

then they sometimes use it this noobisch they kill themselves when they want to shoot the enemy .

why unfair, well, you run around with your weapon, you meet a noob tuber, before you can even start fireing they is a nade on it's way killing you .

you guys destroy the gameplay , tell me, how much fun is the start on karkand ?? where the only thing you here is noob tubes fireing and nades exploding , ow man this is fun, just trow nades and fire the stuff, maybe you guys must start playing casino games instead of FPS games
I don´t like to brag and I am an average player, but yesterday I used the noobtube and it felt good.
I was defending a flag and two guys arrived to cap the flag, they saw me and started to fire so I hid behind a building abaut 50 meters of the flag.
Changed to gl and fired once killing the first guy, hid again, the other guy jumped behind cover and I fired again...second shoot second hit...then I heard a vehicle coming at full throttle around the where I was Hidding, waited for it to pass me and when it was 20 meters from me I shoted again...3 more kills (seems the vehicle was packed he he).
It was my finest hour ...and it shows that the gl could be used very effectively without the bunnyhopping and proximity shooting.

Now I stop my self praise and ask you Could a noob do this? In my early days of playing I shure would have died before killing one...and when I used the gl to shoot near me my k/D ratio was just 1/1...bottom line what ****es you is not noobs using this weapon but the one´s who know how to use it.

its how you use the "noob-tube" that makes it a noob-tube. there is nothing "noob" if you use it as it was ment to (ie grenade vs light vehicles , or for mid/long range looping on enemy infantry.

"noob-tube" is referred to those guys shooting at proximity range, often killing themselve with the enemy.

          now re-think your statement lol

So, I agree with you, I was just answering rombaft.

And all the whining that goes abaut is not beacuse GL are used by noobs, but because they are used by people that can kill a lot of infantary and light vehicles with it.

If the noobtube was only used by noobs I´ll bet no one complained.

people dont complain about guys like you , but about those 2noobs" that use them strictly in close combat , often killing themselve aswell as mates in the act.

                Maybe I missinterpreted rombaf .

P.S. - I have died only once or twice by someone shooting the gl in close combat, so for me it´s not a problem (and it was not because i killed them it´s because that situation is very rare, at least for me).

I think its funny when people complain about something that is part of the game. The game (right now) lets you tube someone from any distance basically. Get over it and adapt. Flame on.

But meh. Noob tubes are a nuisance, but they won't be for too much longer.
In all fairness........this peticular post explains what is really wrong with BF2 and the weapons within it. Its the people, primarily that is the problem.
Wah. The medic is now God. Wah, Now the sniper is, wah, the c4 guy ****es me off, wahhh the GL ****es me off.....Wahh the bunny hopper ****es me off.
Im sorry as to pick on you, as im not, only your post.
No MATTER what DICE and EA does to counter what you folks here, say.......is unfair, there will ALWAYS, and i mean ALWAYS be someone BETTER then you doing something that you may or MAY NOT be able to do, and most folks will whine.
Trust me if DICE made all weapons perfectly even, all tank, all planes, all copters everything........EVEN steven....... something will surface and folks will whine and demand something fixed.
Remember, when you get something you think will balance something, something else gets better. That is fact. Realize this. There is NO balance in online play. Between the latency and ping, and folks with 6K computers, there is no such thing.
HELL........i use to HATE getting owned by the so called noob tubers. Guess what. I got sick of it. I adapted. I now use it. Problem solved. And my game has become more fun because of it. They nerf the Tube.....fine, i'll find something else. No biggie.
Oh.......the noob tubers that you bitch about today.....you'll be bitching about again, when they figure out the nerf........or go to a completely different gun. Thats not threat, thats a promise.

I do mean the abuse of the noob tube, it is there for use against vehicles, and is there for taking out more then one infantry at distance.

It just isn't there for use in close combat , it just isn't there as main weapon wich you run around with the whole time , it isn't there for shooting and bunnyhopping, ...

                        Re: Noob Tube or not?

Thankfully 1.2 will make the grenade launcher function as it was intended to. If you use it like it was intended for, midrange combat against infantry clusters and light vehicle, the changes of the 1.2 patch will hardly be noticable(save for the reduced radius). But if you use it close range, it will bounce, much like they do in real life, due to their minimum arming range to keep them from going off at close range and harming friendly troops.

Here are some specifications for the M230 rounds.

"The M386, M397, M397A1, M406, and M433 rounds arm within 14 to 27 meters (46 to 89 ft). The M361 and M441 rounds arm within 2.4 to 3 meters (8 to 10 ft). HE rounds require an arming distance of approximately 30 meters"

Now what im really wondering, is when the grenade bounces off a wall or floor, and does so with not enough force to detonate it, when it comes to a stop, will it explode on a timer, or will it simply just sit there, until they dissapear. Or will they simply bounce only once and just detonate when they hit the ground again.

If they do go off on a timer, the problem of people bouncing them around corners could arise. But this woulnt be to bad as thats what regular frag grenades are capable of right now, unless those said grenades could bounces very sharply and detonate faster.
