nice page. and alltho it doesnt give a "final" number , it clearly shows that in games the 30 (or 45 .. wherever that came from) are not applicable in 3d games :p

I have read where scientific studies have noted that a person can detect a frame flashed at 1/200th of a second or 200 fps...

so best fps you get with no shadows , no lights , low terrain NO SOUND and no AA :p

hint , turn the screen off :)

I have all my monitors set to max refresh rate cause when I look at a 60 Hz monitor it feels annoying.

All setting Med, 2x AA, works for me.

The human eye cannot detect the amount of frames over 45. So just expirement and try and keep it around there

this is NOT true
limit is about 60fps
but that is not the total point
fps affects lag issues as well
but anyway - SHADOWS are the WORSE killer in specs
turn them off for best play
(yea - they look COOL - sometimes )
same with dynamic lighting

and alot depends on your card
1600 x 1200 look crisper than
1280 x 1024 with 2xAA
but the latter looks 'better' (more pleasing)
i have mine set at 1600 x 1200 no AA
(LCD monitor resolution = same)
and get 60-90 fps all the time
really helped my game play
(sometimes I boost eye candy - it has bad effect)
but them Ifly helo 90% - on the ground - less effect
