I think medic is a good class for beginners; aside from having a decent weapon, you can still help your team via heals/revives in the event that you suck in combat.

Special ops has the most accurate automatic rifle, which makes that the one of the easiest classes for making your shots connect.

Assault has a bit more of a learning curve if you want to play the class seriously, but you could just use the hop'n'nade technique. >_>

        unlocks do not carry over
        but since patches
        you rank up quickly
you MUST practice at least a few hours in SinglePlayer
unless you have lots of experience in similar games
and do NOT take aircraft in multiplayer games
utill you get at least SOME skills first

        find a server you like
        and make friends
        ask for help in game
you might get lucky and find a mentor
or even better a mentor style clan
we have ndw gusy join all the time
        and
        imho
        new guys are not noobs
        they are just new
        JEERKS are noobs

        have fun and welcome

That hop and nade technique will be ending soon. With the 1.2 patch coming out, not only can you not shoot while jumping, but the nades bounce. So, death to all n00b t00b Bunny Hoppers!

I'm saying that you could bunny hop with the grenade launcher if you wanted easy kills, at least you could until early February.

                      *anxiously awaits v1.2*

Re: I hope i dont sound like a total....

too bad you werent there in the very beginning of the game. No one was expert, the rank of lance corporal was a mystic acheivement (later on corporals were big things, since back then it took 10,000 points to become a corporal)...to be honest the game was more fun back then, because everyone was still new, people still were learning and everyone was equal. now a days....I guess you could call me a veteran since I've been around since it came out...well I can say it takes a lot of "skill" for a lack of a better word to kill lots of guys and so forth.

here is the best advice I can give....

                        Blue tag = good guy
                        Green tag = squad member
                        Red tag = bad guy

if you see a red guy, shoot them, or you will become a dead guy. If you shoot a blue guy, expect them to be upset with you. Bullets hurt, refrain from getting shot. Explosions hurt, refrain from being blown up. Red skulls and crossbones are not powerups, they will not make you invincible or give you bonus points. If you see a tank or armored vehicle, don't stand in the middle of the road where they can see you. If the map has a blinking red circle near your location, this is also not a powerup, so refrain from running into the middle of it in hopes of more bonus points. As much as you might not like it, but if you can see an enemy, so can they see you. Enemy commanders are mean, they make things fall from the sky and point you out to every enemy playing the game. As much as you might think it helps, firing wildly at a tank, jet, or chopper with your rifle is only going to draw attention to yourself.

finally the best peice of advice I can give you...if I am on the oppisite team as you, avoid me at all costs, i'll most likely shoot you lol. Actually the best thing I can say is join a squad and stick with them. Watch what they do and their tactics...sometimes you can learn a lot....other times you learn what NOT to do

Re: I hope i dont sound like a total....

the best peice of advice i can give you, is DONT walk down main roads/pathways, its the most obvious place for you to be, therefore you will be shot - keep off the path, and hide amongst the trees

Also, if you are taking a base RUN away from the flag pole the instant it has been taken, because any even remotly good commander fires artillery at flags the instant they lose control of them.

another thing thing that'll help ya is, if you are in a big group of team mates, say defending a base or somthing, you are far more likely to get artillery on your head than running around alone, likewise if you are in a big squad, always keep moving because if you stay still, the enemy commander will see you and fire his artillery at you.

                              Good luck :0

Re: I hope i dont sound like a total....

Here are a couple of tips I have not heard mentioned yet:

-Play the single player and learn the differences in the uniforms. There is a slight delay of a second or two before the color tag appears over somebody's head. Once you can identify friends or enemies by sight, you will start dying less and killing more.

-Play support - like medic, you can be very valuable to your team by spamming ammo bags without being great in combat. You also never run out of ammo, and the weapon is very forgiving. Also, LEARN TO USE HAND GRENADES effectively (as support you never run out!) I have seen many times one guy who knows how to use them clear out 7 or 8 guys around a flag, and in a hurry, too.

-Prepare to be frustrated, IMMENSELY FRUSTRATED at the start. You will wonder many many times how you emptied a whole magazine into a guy only to have him turn and drop you with one shot. You will be dropped with one shot from impossible distances. You will be knifed by many people without knowing how they managed to get so close without you knowing. You will be squished by tanks, you will drive jeeps off bridges, you will be selectively sniped out of helicopters, you will shoot a tank five times only to have him blow up your tank with two or even one shot, etc etc etc. Just try to remember, the more you play, the better you get.

                                have fun.
