Yeah! Use the skills to get kills. Thats how it works. I mean if i see a squad coming my way, im gonna try to flank them and so on.... Theres no better feeling than being alone and flanking 3 people to their doom. So if someone have better strategy than he should exploit the fact that he got a better understanding of the game.

I know recently in battlefield 2 a lot of people have been getting killed simply because they meet an opponent with better aim or quicker reflexes, or simply uses better tactics (for example, picking the right kit given the situation). Infact, this has such a huge effect towards the gameplay I've seen teams lose the whole game simply because the enemy was just better at the game.

This may seem petty, but 90% of the time someone meets an opponent with superior skill they lose. This is because it is an unfair fight. The more skilled player has an advantage because they will either have a better kit at the time, be in a better position to protect themselves, make more hits, or simply shoot first. Extremely skilled players can obtain ridiculously high kill death ratios in a game, so, I'm wondering, is exploiting this imbalance (bias towards skilled players) in the game acceptable?

BTW Drunken Pirate, not trying to start an argument with you unless you were one of the 8 who voted "no".
I can't think of anything more American than rewarding somone based on their skill. Too often the prevailing thought today is to dumb everyone down to the same level. Grammar schools no longer have diffrentiated reading groups or math groups based on skill, because we may hurtthe feelings of those who are not as inclined to learn well. Saying something is not fair because one person has superior skill is disguised socialism. Where it's not about equal opportunity, but making everyone equal. Reminds me of Kurt Vonnegut's Harrison Bergeron:

THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General.

This doesn't even make sense... It's like saying that we should give Iraqis a few F-14's or F-35's merely because they don't have an air force and it's a lopsided fight...

I mean, wtf IS this??? Am I just totally missing the point?

I can't believe people didn't realise this was a joke topic.

But what really made me laugh were the people who posted after puglous said it was a joke, not realising it was a joke.

Are you blind? Do you not have a sense of humour? Are you just plain thick?

Come on guys, get your act together and stop making fools out of yourselves. :P

Thanks for the laughs I got out of this thread puglous.

yea this is kind of...well I don't know how to describe it. Of course players that have played the game longer are going to be better than you, of course they are going to have better tactics, better K/D ratios, etc. That is how the game is played. You don't truly expect to be able to be brand new to the game, and be able to kill guys or gals that have been playing for 500 hrs now. If you want to defeat people like this, watch how they play, learn tactics of your own, figure out what works and what doesn't work...and then use it! Of course this is fair, this is a video game, the people that have played it longer are going to be better than those that are new, it applies to all video games.

Sorry I skipped over his latter post when I posted. He was a little too subtle in his joke in my opinion. But thanks for posting something completely pointless then. I'm glad you thought it was funny.

Actually, the posts on this forum work kind of weird so it looks like I told people it was a joke earlier than I actually did. Rombat (or whatever his name is) for example actually posted before I said it was a joke, but the way the posts are layed out makes it look like he posted after. If you look at the post times you'll see what I mean.

Oh, and you're welcome for those laughs .

Again, both soldiers needs to learn tactics. If you have a M24, don't go close range with a PKM. It's just common sense and sometimes, you come across an enemy better than you, and that's tough luck. Basically, you're saying EA should divide all the good players and new players and make the new players play against themselves and the bad players play against themselves...

Well, that's NEVER happening. If you're new, talk to a few people on TBF2 and learn the basic controls. Then, you get bigger advantages. Also by unlocking weapons. This "unfair" fight can't be helped.

Sometimes when i play BF2, people will shoot me, without as much as a "How do you do?". They will just shoot me on sight, often in the head. Now that's kind of unneccesary, don't you think?

This is a game. Some people are good at flying jets, some good at using tanks and some good on foot for various reasons. Last time I checked, there was no moral in this game. Maybe you should get some SUPERIOR zomg skills of your own and go after that tank, jets, soldier.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. People with higher skill are total noobs. That's not how the game was meant to be played.

I think its funny that two pages after the topic creator said its a JOKE people are still replying to it like it's the end of the world.
